After being nominated for Golden Globes and Oscars (Best Original song), SS Rajamouli’s RRR, headlined by Jr NTR and Ram Charan, has now made it to the BAFTA Film Awards longlist. The film scored a nomination for ‘Film Not in the English Language’ longlist. “Very happy to share that RRR is in the LONGLIST of #BAFTA FILM AWARDS. Thank you everyone. #RRRMovie @BAFTA,” production house DVV Entertainment posted on Twitter on Friday.

The British Academy Film Awards, more commonly known as the BAFTA Film Awards is an annual award show hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to honour the best British and international contributions to film.

Right now, RRR is competing with films like Bardo, Argentina, 1985, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, Close, All Quiet on the Western Front, Corsage, Decision To Leave, EO, Holy Spider, and The Quiet Girl. The list will be trimmed down to five as the award ceremony comes closer.

The final BAFTA 2023 nominations will be declared on January 19, while the awards ceremony will be held on February 19, at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Shaunak Sen’s celebrated documentary All That Breathes, an internationally co-produced Hindi title, is also in the race for a place in the top five of the documentary category.

Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain is the latest Hollywood heavyweight who is blown away by RRR. “Watching this film was such a party,” she wrote on her Twitter page after catching the film.
