As Oscar buzz around it grows more and more with each passing day, SS Rajamouli’s RRR continues to win more international honour. This time around though, it’s not the filmmaker or the film which has won acknowledgment. Film’s composer MM Keeravani, who made the world sit up and take notice of his explosive potential with RRR, was adjudged with Best Music award by The Los Angeles Film Critics Association on Sunday. It is the film’s first honour on the musical front. Paweł Mykietyn, who composed music for EO, was the runner-up.

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association voted on the best films of the year on Sunday, announcing its selections via the organization’s official Twitter account. The critics group opted to split its Best Film award between the two acclaimed films, Tar and Everything Everywhere All at Once. The critics will hand out their awards at a gala on Jan 14.

At the same time, the Boston Society of Film Critics, which was formed in 1981, recognized Keeravani’s efforts for his outstanding score in RRR as they’ve chosen him for the Best Original Score.“WINNER, Best Original Score: RRR (by M. M. Keeravani). Runner Up: WOMEN TALKING (by Hildur Guðnadóttir),” the awards organization posted in a tweet.

Nominations voting is from January 12 to January 17, with official nominations set to be announced on Jan 24. At the 95th Academy Awards, RRR, after being rejected as India's official entry for Oscar, has thrown its hat in the ring for nomination in various categories including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects among others.
