The high-profile cast of victory Venkatesh-front-lined Saindhav, which is his prestigious 75th film, has got another heavyweight addition. The ensemble already features the likes of Nawazuddin Siddiqui (in his Telugu debut), Andrea Jeremiah and Ruhani Sharma (Chi La Sow and Hit: The First Case fame) in supporting roles and idlebrain.com has now exclusively learnt that Tamil actor Arya has landed a crucial role. This is Arya’s second gig in Telugu. A familiar name for Telugu audiences, courtesy his dubbed Tamil ventures into Telugu, the strapping actor made his Telugu debut with Allu Arjun-starrer Varudu (2010), where he played the menacing villain Diwakar.
A source close to the development tells us, “Saindhav’s director Sailesh Kolanu has fleshed out his supporting characters well and they are an important part of world building in the story, and their actions greatly influence the protagonist’s path. Also, they add a great depth to the story, making it engaging and interesting. It is the reason why aforementioned popular names came on board. While the nature of Arya’s part is under a lock and key, he flew down to Hyderabad last week and shot for the film. It remains to be seen whether he will join the sets again in the course of the film’s schedule in Hyderabad.”
A high octane action-drama, where a medicine Onasemnogene abeparvovec (each vial costs around Rs. 16.5 cr), which is used to treat spinal muscular atrophy in kids below five years, plays a vital role, Saindhav, co-starring Shraddha Srinath opposite Venky, is a production venture of Venkat Boyanapalli under Niharika Entertainment, while Tamil musician Santosh Narayanan is the composer. It is being made on a massive scale with a lavish budget and is believed to be the costliest film of Venky’s glorious career. It will be released in all southern languages and Hindi on December 22.
