Versatile star Priyadarshi plays the title role in the film Sarangapani Jatakam. After Gentleman and Sammohanam, this marks another collaboration between director Indraganti Mohana Krishna and producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. The film is set for release on April 25 under the prestigious banner of Sridevi Movies. The lead actress is Rupa Kodavayur, with Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha, Avasarala Srinivas, and Sai Srinivas Vadlamani playing key roles. PG Vinda handled cinematography, Vivek Sagar composed the music, and editing was by Venkatesh K Marthand. The recently released trailer has received a very good response. As part of the promotions, Indraganti spoke to the media.

After a long time, you’re bringing out a full-fledged comedy like those by Jandhyala or EVV. How did this come about?

Indraganti:
Back in the day, Telugu cinema would see at least five or six full-length comedies a year. That number has declined. We’ve been leaning more towards action. Even when a comedy does come out, it’s usually not driven by story or character—it’s just a couple of comic scenes. I’ve wanted to make a story-driven comedy for the past 5–6 years. I had a rough idea too.

After Yashoda, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad said, “It’s been five years since Sammohanam, let’s do another film.” I shared my idea, and he liked it. Around the same time, I watched Balagam, which starred Priyadarshi. Later, I saw his web series Save the Tigers and his film Mail on Aha. I felt he would be perfect for a humorous film. When I called him and explained, he readily agreed. We locked the project in November 2023 and started shooting by March 2024.

What kind of film is Sarangapani Jatakam going to be?

Usually, comedy films feature a standard set of comedians. This film breaks that mold—everyone plays new, different roles. It’s a full-fledged light-hearted fun film. My aim was to make a movie that people wouldn’t just laugh at and forget, but one that sticks with them—makes them talk about the characters and dialogues for days. This film gave me immense satisfaction. Every filmmaker usually has some dissatisfaction with a project—be it technical or budgetary. But with this film, that was minimal. I found the right cast and could make it exactly the way I envisioned. Personally, I’m very happy with Sarangapani Jatakam.

The underlying theme of this film is astrology. How much do you believe in horoscopes? What homework did you do for this subject?

Indraganti:
I do my homework thoroughly for any subject. When it comes to astrology, I stand in the middle. Some predictions made to me have come true, and some haven’t.

For example, a week before the release of Gentleman in June 2016, I had a major accident. A year before that, in 2015, a friend (not a professional astrologer but someone who loved palm reading) looked at my hand and asked if I had a driver. When I said yes, he warned me not to travel without one between May and August 2016. I forgot about it—until I had the accident in July.

Later, he looked at my birth chart and told me, “You want to be in cinema? You won’t make your first film until you’re 32.” And indeed, I made my first film at 32. Some things happened, others didn’t. So if you ask me whether I believe or not, I’d say I’m still studying it.

This movie doesn’t question beliefs—but explores what happens when belief turns into blind belief. Belief, when constructive, empowers us. Blind belief weakens and destabilizes us—and can lead to irrational behavior that affects not just us but those around us. We’ve portrayed this chaos in a comedic way. There are no lectures or sermons in the film. Everything in life, including belief, should have limits. Belief should strengthen us—not drive us mad. That’s what I wanted to convey.

Every character in the film is unique. The hero, Darshi, works in the automobile industry. His friend, played by Vennela Kishore, is a service consultant. All of Kishore’s dialogues are automobile-themed. We’ve created each character in an interesting way and didn’t mock any individual’s beliefs.

Do you think creative freedom today needs extra care compared to the past?

Indraganti:
There’s nothing too risky in this movie. Still, I was careful. My intention is not to spark unnecessary controversy. Belief is personal—but don’t hold beliefs that wreck others’ lives. That’s the core idea, which we’ve expressed comedically. And even then, if someone takes offense, we can’t help it.

I’m not saying all astrology is superstition or that all believers are fools. Some predictions made to me did come true. That’s why in this film, astrologers are not portrayed as comedians but are shown seriously.

Does the hero practice astrology or believe in it?

The teaser suggests an astrology theme, but the trailer hints at suspense. What do you say?

Indraganti:
This film can be called a “crime comedy”—a family-friendly crime comedy. There’s no violence, but there is a criminal element. The comedy arises from how an ordinary middle-class man working at a car shop deals with this situation. You could call it an “astrological crime comedy” (laughs).

You started your directorial journey with Grahanam in 2004. What differences do you see in these 20 years?


Indraganti:
The biggest change is the attention span. Now, there’s a screen between the screen and the viewer—phones. During a hero’s intro scene, 50 phones go up in the air. Earlier, when the lights went off, we were immersed in the film. Now, there’s a parallel world. The biggest challenge for filmmakers is keeping the phone in the audience’s pocket.

That doesn’t mean fast-cutting will help. It’s about engaging content. Films like Premam and Prema Desam weren’t fast-paced, but they did well because of emotional connection. People used to watch films for entertainment. Now they want emotional experiences. Otherwise, they’ll just watch Malayalam films at home on OTT.

At the beginning of your career, everyone hailed you as a promising director. But now, why does it feel like you’re struggling?

Indraganti:
Adjusting to changing sensibilities takes effort. When generations and mindsets change, it takes time to adapt. After COVID, I went through a lot of confusion. V released directly on OTT. Regardless of whether it was a hit or not, the producer made money. But Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali became a mess and got delayed.

That’s when I reflected—my strength is the audience. The genre I enjoy and can entertain people with is comedy. There has been humor in my past films too. But this time, I wanted to make a comedy that appeals to both older and younger generations. Not every time will be a win—non-stop success is a myth. Still, we must keep trying.

This is your third film with Sridevi Movies and Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. What kind of support did you receive?

We’ve delivered two successful films in this combination before. We understand each other well as director and producer. For this film, he gave me full support. I have no dissatisfaction after making this movie—I made it exactly how I envisioned. That’s due to his passion for cinema.

Why should people watch Sarangapani Jatakam?

Recently, films are full of violence and action. There hasn’t been a wholesome comedy film in a while. Sarangapani Jatakam is a happy, delightful film that all age groups and families can enjoy together. Along with fun, it offers a great theatrical experience.

చాలా రోజుల త‌ర్వాత జంధ్యాల‌, ఈవీవీ గార్ల మాదిరిగా ఒక పూర్తిస్థాయి వినోదాత్మ‌క చిత్రాన్ని తీసుకొస్తున్నారు.. ఇదంతా ఎలా కుదిరింది?

ఇంద్రగంటి మోహన కృష్ణ: ఒకప్పుడు తెలుగులో సంవత్సరానికి కనీసం ఐదారు పూర్తిస్థాయి వినోదాత్మక చిత్రాలు వచ్చేవి. ఇప్పుడు వాటి సంఖ్య తగ్గింది. ఎక్కువ యాక్షన్ వైపే వెళ్తున్నాము. ఒకటి రెండు కామెడీ చిత్రాలు వస్తున్నప్పటికీ.. కథ, క్యారెక్టర్ డిపెండెడ్ హ్యూమర్ కాకుండా కేవలం రెండు మూడు సీన్లకు కామెడీని పరిమితం చేస్తున్నారు. అలా కాకుండా ఒక కథ ఆధారంగా చేయాలనే కోరిక గత ఐదారు ఏళ్లుగా ఉంది. ఒక రఫ్ ఐడియా కూడా ఉంది. ఇక యశోద సినిమా తర్వాత ఒక రోజు నిర్మాత శివలెంక కృష్ణ ప్రసాద్ గారు ` సమ్మోహనం చేసి ఐదేళ్లు అయిపోయాయి. మళ్ళీ మనం ఒక సినిమా చేద్దామని ` నాతో అన్నారు. అప్పుడే నా దగ్గర ఉన్న ఐడియా గురించి చెప్పాను. ఆయనకు కూడా బాగా నచ్చింది. సినిమా చేద్దామన్నారు. కరెక్ట్ గా అదే సమయంలో నేను ప్రియదర్శి నటించిన ` బలగం ` అనే సినిమా చూశాను. ఆ తర్వాత ` సేవ్ ద టైగర్స్ ` అనే వెబ్ సిరీస్, ఆహా కోసం అతను చేసిన ` మెయిల్ ` అనే సినిమా చేశాను. అవన్నీ చూసాక దర్శి తో ఒక హ్యూమరస్ సినిమా చేయొచ్చని నాకు అనిపించింది. దర్శికి కాల్ చేసి విషయం చెప్పగా.. తప్పకుండా చేస్తా సార్ అని చెప్పడం జరిగింది. 2023 నవంబర్ లో సినిమా చేద్దామని నిర్ణయించుకున్న తర్వాత పనులన్నీ టక టక జ‌రిగిపోయాయి. 2024 మార్చిలో షూటింగ్ స్టార్ట్ చేశాము.

సారంగపాణి జాతకం ఎలా ఉండబోతుంది?
సాధారణంగా కామెడీ అనగానే ఒక స్టాండర్డ్ బంచ్ ఆఫ్ కమెడియన్స్ ఉంటారు. అలా కాకుండా ఈ సినిమాలో అంద‌రూ అంత‌కు ముందు వేయ‌న‌టువంటి కొత్త‌ పాత్ర‌ల‌ను చేశారు. ఇదొక ఫుల్‌ ఫ్లెడ్జ్‌ లైట్ హార్ట‌ర్డ్ ఫ‌న్ ఫిల్మ్‌. స‌మ్మ‌ర్ లో స‌ర‌దాగా సినిమాకు వెళ్లి చూసి న‌వ్వుకుంటూ అక్కడికక్క‌డే దులుపుకుని వ‌చ్చేసేలాగా కాకుండా.. ఇంటికి వెళ్లాక కూడా నాలుగైదు రోజుల పాటు పాత్ర‌లు, డైలాగ్స్ గురించి మాట్లాడుకునేలా ఉండాలి అనుకుని తీసిన సినిమా ఇది. అలాగే నాకు చాలా తృప్తిని ఇచ్చిన సినిమా ఇది. సాధార‌ణంగా ప్ర‌తి సినిమాతో ప్ర‌తి ద‌ర్శ‌కుడికి ఎంతోకొంత అసంతృప్తి ఉంటుంది. అంటే టెక్నిక‌ల్ గానో, బ‌డ్జెట్ ప‌రంగానో.. అనుకున్న‌ట్లుగా సినిమా రాలేద‌ని భావిస్తుంటారు. అలా చాలా త‌క్కువ‌ అసంతృప్తి ఉన్న సినిమా ఇది. మ్యాగ్జిమం అనుకున్న‌ట్లుగా సినిమాను తీయ‌గ‌లిగాను. మంచి న‌టులు దొరికారు.. వ్య‌క్తిగ‌తంగా ` సారంగపాణి జాతకం ` సినిమాతో చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉన్నాను.

ఈ సబ్జెక్ట్ లో చూసుకుంటే అండ‌ర్ లైనింగ్ ఎలిమెంట్ ` జాత‌కం ` . మీరు జాత‌కాల‌ను ఎంత‌వ‌ర‌కు న‌మ్ముతారు..? ఈ సబ్జెక్ట్ కోసం మీరు చేసిన హోమ్ వ‌ర్క్ ఏంటి..?

ఇంద్రగంటి మోహన కృష్ణ: సబ్జెక్ట్ ఏదైనా హోమ్ వ‌ర్క్ అయితే క‌చ్చితంగా చేయాలి. అయితే జాత‌కాల విష‌యంలో నేను మ‌ధ్యంగా ఉన్నాను. ఎందుకంటే నాకు చెప్పిన‌వి కొన్ని జ‌రిగాయి.. కొన్ని జ‌ర‌గ‌లేదు. 2016 జూన్ లో ` జెంటిల్ మాన్ ` సినిమా విడుదలైంది. సరిగ్గా వారం రోజులు ముందు నాకు మేజర్ యాక్సిడెంట్ జరిగింది. కానీ ఈ విషయం మీడియాకు తెలియదు. అయితే ఆ యాక్సిడెంట్ గురించి సరిగ్గా వన్ ఇయర్ క్రితం అంటే 2015లోనే ఒకాయన న‌న్ను హెచ్చరించారు. ఆయన నాకు స్నేహితుడు. ప్రొఫెషనల్ ఆస్ట్రాలజర్ కాన‌ప్ప‌టికీ.. ఆయ‌న‌కు చేతులు చూడ‌టం బాగా ఇష్టం. ఒకరోజు నా చేయి చూసి ` మీకు డ్రైవర్ ఉన్నారా? ` అని అడిగారు. నేను డ్రైవర్ ఉన్నాడని చెప్పాను. ` 2016 మే నుంచి ఆగస్టు మధ్యలో డ్రైవర్ లేకుండా ప్రయాణించకండి ` అని ఆయన చెప్పారు. ఎందుకు అని ప్రశ్నించగా.. ఏదో జాగ్రత్త చెప్తున్నాను అన్నారు. తర్వాత నేను ఆ విషయాన్ని మర్చిపోయాను. సరిగ్గా 2016 జూలైలో నాకు యాక్సిడెంట్ జరిగింది. అప్పుడు ఆయ‌న మాట‌లు గుర్తొచ్చి మీకెలా ఇది ముందే తెలుసు అని అడిగాను. కొన్ని ఇండికేషన్స్ ఉంటాయి.. వాటి ద్వారానే చెప్పాన‌ని ఆయ‌న అన్నారు.

ఆ త‌ర్వాత ఒకాయ‌న నా జాత‌క‌చ‌క్రం మొత్తం వేసి.. ` సినిమాలపై ఇంట్రెస్ట్ అంటున్నారు క‌దా! అయితే మీకు 32 ఏళ్ళు వచ్చేవరకు మీ ఫస్ట్ సినిమా తీయలేరు ` అని చెప్పారు. సరిగ్గా నేను నా 32 ఏళ్ళ వయసులోనే తొలి సినిమా తీశాను. అలాంటివి కొన్ని జరిగాయి. అవి కాకుండా కొన్ని అడపాదడపా చెప్పినవి జరగలేదు. సో జాతకాలను నమ్ముతారా? నమ్మరా? అని అడిగితే.. నేను ఇంకా స్టడీ చేసే ప్రాసెస్ లోనే ఉన్నాన‌ని చెబుతాను. అయితే ఈ సినిమాలో నేను నమ్మకాన్ని ప్రశ్నించడం లేదు. ఏ నమ్మకాన్ని అయినా మీరు నమ్ముకోవచ్చు. అది దేవుడు అవొచ్చు .. వాస్తు అవొచ్చు.. జాతకం అవొచ్చు. కానీ నమ్మకం మూఢ నమ్మకం అయినప్పుడు మనిషిని బలహీనగా మార్చేస్తుంది. మామూలు నమ్మకం మనిషిని బలవంతుడిని చేస్తే.. మూఢనమ్మకం బలహీనుడిని చేస్తుంది. అప్పుడు ఆ మనిషి పిచ్చిపిచ్చి గా ప్రవర్తించడం స్టార్ట్ చేస్తాడు. తన జీవితంతో పాటు తన చుట్టూ ఉన్నవారి జీవితాల‌ను సైతం అస్తవ్యస్తం చేస్తాడు. అలా జరిగినప్పుడు ఎంత గందరగోళం ఏర్ప‌డుతుంది అనేదాన్ని కామికల్ వేలో ప్రెసెంట్ చేశాము. ఈ సినిమాలో సూక్తులు, ఉపన్యాసాలు ఉండ‌వు. దేనికైనా లిమిట్ ఉండాలి.. అది న‌మ్మ‌కానికి కూడా వ‌ర్తిస్తుంది. నమ్మకం మనకు బలాన్ని ఇచ్చే విధంగా ఉండాలి.. కానీ పిచ్చోడ్ని చేయకూడదు. అదే నేను ఈ కథ ద్వారా చెప్పాలి అనుకున్నాను. ఈ చిత్రంలో ప్ర‌తి పాత్ర కొత్త‌గా ఉంటుంది. ఆటోమొబైల్స్ లో హీరో ద‌ర్శి, హీరో ఫ్రెండ్ వెన్నెల కిషోర్ ప‌ని చేస్తారు. ఒక‌రు సేల్స్ మెన్‌.. మ‌రొక‌రు సేల్స్ స‌ర్వీసింగ్ క‌న్సెల్టెంట్‌. కిషోర్ మాట్లాడే అన్ని మాట‌లు ఆటోమొబైల్స్ రిఫరెన్స్‌లోనే ఉంటాయి. అలా ప్ర‌తి పాత్ర‌కు ఒక క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్ ఉంటుంది. ప్ర‌తి పాత్ర గుర్తుండాల‌ని వీలైనంత వ‌ర‌కు ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్‌గానే క్రియేట్ చేయ‌డం జ‌రిగింది. అలాగే ఎవ‌రి న‌మ్మ‌కాల‌ను వ్య‌క్తిగ‌తంగా హేళ‌న చేయ‌కుండా చూపించాము.

ఈ విష‌యంలో ఒక‌ప్ప‌టితో పోలిస్తే ఇప్ప‌టి క్రియేటివ్ ఫ్రీడ‌మ్ కి ఎక్స్ట్రా కేర్ యాడ్ అయిన‌ట్లుందా సార్‌..?

ఇంద్రగంటి మోహన కృష్ణ: అంత ప్రమాదకర కంటెంట్ ఈ సినిమాలో లేదు. అయినా కూడా చాలా కేర్ తీసుకున్నాను. నా ఉద్ధేశం అన‌వ‌ర‌మైన కంట్ర‌వ‌ర్సీ రేకెత్తించ‌డం కాదు. న‌మ్మ‌కం అనేది వ్య‌క్తిగ‌తం.. మీకున్న న‌మ్మ‌కాన్ని ప‌దిమంది జీవితాల‌ను చిన్నాభిన్నం చేసేలా న‌మ్మొద్దు అన్న‌దే నా ఐడియా. ఆ పాయింట్ నే కామెడీగా చూపించాము. దానిపై కూడా ఎవ‌రైనా వ‌చ్చి గొడ‌వ చేస్తే ఏం చేయ‌లేము. జాత‌కాల‌న్ని మూఢ‌న‌మ్మ‌కాలు.. న‌మ్మేవాళ్లంద‌రూ ద‌ద్ద‌మ్మ‌లు అని నేను అన‌డం లేదు. ఎందుకంటే నాకే కొన్ని జ‌రిగాయి.. కొన్ని జ‌ర‌గ‌లేదు. అందుకే నేను నా సినిమాలో జ్యోతిష్యులను కామెడియ‌న్స్ గా కాకుండా సీరియ‌స్‌గానే చూపించాను.

ఈ సినిమాలో హీరో జాత‌కాలు చెబుతారా? లేక జాత‌కాల‌ను న‌మ్ముతాడా?

ఇంద్రగంటి మోహన కృష్ణ: ఈ చిత్రంలో హీరో జాత‌కాల‌ను న‌మ్ముతాడు. జ్యోతిష్యం అంటేనే ఒక విచిత్రమైన క‌ల్ట్ సైన్స్. పంచాంగం ఓపెన్ చేస్తే ఎన్ని డీటైల్స్ ఉంటాయో. అటువంటి దాన్ని బోగ‌స్ అని అన‌లేము. నా ఐడియా అనేది ప్ర‌శ్నించ‌డం కాదు.. దుమ్మెత్తిపోయ‌డం కాదు. న‌మ్మ‌డం, న‌మ్మ‌కపోవ‌డం మీఇష్టం.. కానీ ఇలా చేస్తే క‌ష్టాలు వ‌స్తాయ‌ని ఆడియెన్స్ కు చెప్ప‌డ‌మే ముఖ్య ఉద్ధేశం.

టీజ‌ర్ చూస్తే జాత‌కాలు రిలేటెడ్‌గా అనిపించింది.. కానీ ట్రైల‌ర్ చూశాక సినిమా ఇంకా ఏదో స‌స్పెన్స్‌ ఉంద‌నిపించింది.. దీనిపై మీరేమంటారు..?

ఇంద్రగంటి మోహన కృష్ణ: ఈ సినిమాను క్రైమ్ కామెడీ అని అనొచ్చు. అంటే కుటుంబం మొత్తం క‌లిసి చూసే క్రైమ్ కామెడీ అన్న‌మాట‌. ఎటువంటి హింస లేక‌పోయినా.. ఒక క్రిమిన‌ల్ ఎలిమెంట్ అనేది ఉంటుంది. ఆ ఎలిమెంట్ ను కారు షాప్ లో చిన్న ఉద్యోగం చేసుకునే ఒక మధ్య తరగతి హీరో ఎలా హ్యాండిల్ చేశాడు అనే అంశం నుంచి కామెడీ జ‌న‌రేట్ అవుతుంది. ఆస్ట్రాలజిక‌ల్ క్రైమ్ కామెడీ అని కూడా అనొచ్చు(న‌వ్వులు).

2004లో ` గ్రహణం ` సినిమాతో డైరెక్ట‌ర్ గా మీ జ‌ర్నీని స్టార్ట్ చేశారు. ఈ 20 ఇయ‌ర్స్ లో అప్ప‌టికి, ఇప్ప‌టికి మీరు గ్ర‌హించిన డిఫ‌రెన్స్ ఏంటి సార్‌..?

ఇంద్రగంటి మోహన కృష్ణ: ప్రధానమైన మార్పు అటెన్షన్ స్పాన్. ఇప్పుడు తెరకి మనుషులకు మధ్య వేరే వస్తువులు లేస్తున్నాయి. సినిమాకు వెళ్ళామంటే హీరో ఇంట్రడక్షన్ సీన్ కే ఒక 50 ఫోన్లు గాల్లోకి లేస్తున్నాయి. ఒకప్పుడు సినిమాకు వెళ్లామంటే లైట్స్ అన్ని ఆఫ్ అయిపోయేవి. ఆ సినిమా ప్రపంచంలోకి మనం వెళ్లిపోయేవాళ్ళం. ఇప్పుడు తెరకి మనిషికి మధ్య కొత్త ప్రపంచం ఏర్పడింది. ఆడియన్స్ సెల్ ఫోన్ ను పాకెట్ లో నుంచి తీయకుండా ఏం చేయాలి అన్నదే ప్రస్తుతం ఫిల్మ్‌ మేకర్స్ ముందు ఉన్న బిగ్గెస్ట్ ఛాలెంజ్. అలా అని సినిమాను ఫాస్ట్ గా కట్ చేసినంత మాత్రాన సినిమా చూడరు. ఏదో విధంగా ఎంగేజ్ చేయాలి. ప్రేమమ్, ప్రేమలో ఇవన్నీ ఫాస్ట్ మూవింగ్ సినిమాలు కావు.. అయినా కూడా బాగా ఆడాయి. కాబట్టి ఎమోషనల్ గా ఏదో ఒకటి కనెక్ట్ అయితేనే జనాలు సినిమాలు చూస్తారు. లేదంటే ఇంట్లోనే రిల్సో, ఓటీటీలో మలయాళం సినిమాలో చూసుకుంటారు. ఒకప్పుడు కాలక్షేపం కోసమే సినిమాలు చూసేవారు. కానీ ఇప్పుడు కచ్చితంగా ఎమోషనల్ ఎక్స్పీరియన్స్ కోసమే సినిమాలు చూస్తున్నారు.

మీరు కెరీర్ స్టార్ట్ చేసినప్పుడు మన తెలుగు సినీ పరిశ్రమకు మంచి దర్శకుడు దొరికాడని అంతా అనుకున్నారు. ప్రారంభంలో అంత మంచి చిత్రాలను మీరు తీశారు. కానీ ఇప్పుడు ఎందుకు ఇంద్రగంటి స్ట్రగ్గుల్ అవుతున్నారు?

ఇంద్రగంటి మోహన కృష్ణ: పరిస్థితుల ప్రభావం వల్ల సెన్సిబిలిటీని మ్యాచ్ చేసుకోవడానికి కొంత స్ట్రగ్గుల్ ఉంటుంది. తరం మారుతున్నప్పుడు, ఆలోచనా ధోరణి మారుతున్నప్పుడు అడ్జస్ట్ అవ్వడానికి కొంత సమయం పడుతుంది. కోవిడ్ తర్వాత నేను చాలా కన్ఫ్యూషన్ లో పడిపోయాను. ` వి ` అనే సినిమా డైరెక్టర్ ఓటీటీలో వచ్చేసింది. అది హిట్టా? కాదా? అనేది పక్కన పెడితే నిర్మాతకు డబ్బులు వచ్చాయి. ` ఆ అమ్మాయి గురించి మీకు చెప్పాలి ` మొత్తం ఫుల్ మెస్ అయిపోయి డిలే అయిపోయింది. అప్పుడు కూర్చుని ఆలోచించాను.. ప్రేక్షకులే నా బలం. నేను ఎంజాయ్ చేస్తూ ప్రేక్షకులను అనంద‌పరచగలిగే జోనర్ కామెడీ. నా గ‌త‌ చిత్రాల్లోనూ హ్యూమర్ ఉంది. కానీ ఈసారి కామెడీతో నాటితరం, నేటితరం ప్రేక్షకులు మెప్పించగలగాలి. ఇక ప్రతిసారి గెలవలేము. నాన్ స్టాప్ సక్సెస్ అనేది ఎందులోనూ ఉండదు. అది ఒక భ్ర‌మ మాత్రమే. అయినా కూడా మనం ట్రై చేస్తూనే ఉండాలి.

శ్రీదేవీ మూవీస్‌లోను, నిర్మాత శివలెంక కృష్ణ ప్రసాద్‌తో ఇది మూడో సినిమా. మీకు ఎలాంటి సహాకారం లభించింది?

గతంలో రెండు విజయవంతమైన సినిమాలు మా కాంబినేషన్‌లో వచ్చాయి. మా ఇద్దరి మధ్య దర్శకుడు, నిర్మాతకు ఉండాల్సిన అవగాహన చక్కగా కుదిరింది. ఈ సినిమా విషయంలో ఆయన పూర్తిగా సహాకారం అందించారు. ఈ సినిమా తీసిన తర్వాత నాకు ఎలాంటి అసంతృప్తి కలుగలేదు. నేను అనుకొన్నట్టుగా, నాకు నచ్చినట్టు సినిమా తీశాను. అందుకు శివలెంక కృష్ణప్రసాద్ గారికి సినిమా పట్ల ఉన్న అభిరుచి కారణం.
