Vijay Deverakonda on Thursday unveiled the teaser of Priyadarshi-fronted Sarangapani Jathakam, written and directed by Indraganti Mohana Krishna, and it promises a comedy drama with a good mix of fun and chaos.
Approximately two minutes in length, the teaser opens with Sarangapani (played by Priyadarshi) who believes our fate is determined in our palm. Yes, he is a staunch believer of horoscopes and his day starts by checking out horoscope columns in newspapers and moving accordingly. When he is destined for something good, his joy knows no bounds. Take for example when a character played by Roopa Koduvayur proposes to him, he leaps in the air out of happiness. There’s Indraganti’s staple Tanikella Bharani who seems to be playing a negative role and it looks like Saranga’s path crosses with him. At his wedding, Saranga stabs someone and follows it up with stabbing a character played by Naresh Vijayakrishna too. Is he dreaming or did he intentionally try to kill due to his blind faith in horoscopes? To know answers to these questions, we have to wait until December 20th when the film releases.
Overall, it looks like audiences will be treated to a fresh take on the age-old concept called horoscope by Indraganti who is a proven name when it comes to tackling comedy. The teaser promises to be a delightful rollercoaster of love, laughter and chaos, delivering an unexpected story of a man whose blind faith in horoscopes leads to a series of events that turns his life upside down. It seems to be just a glimpse into the endless laughter and madness that awaits audiences. Also, adding to the madness are Indraganti’s other staples like Avasarala Srinivas and Vennela Kishore who are just on point in the teaser. Priyadarshi, on the other hand, is in fine form, displaying his effortless comic timing.
Also featuring Viva Harsha, Sivannarayana, Ashok Kumar, Raja Chembolu, Vadlamani Srinivas, Pradeep Rudra, Ramesh Reddy, Kalpalatha, Roopa Lakshmi, Harshini and KLK Mani in supporting roles, Sarangapani Jathakam is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under his Sridevi Movies, while Vivek Sagar is the music composer.
As the title suggests, #SarangapaniJathakam follows the story of a man overly reliant on astrology.
