Trust filmmaker Gunasekhar to leave no stone unturned to mount his next, Shaakuntalam, on a majestic note. After announcing the release date – February 17 – earlier this week, the makers on Thursday said the film’s re-recording sessions are underway in Budapest, Hungary. Budapest Symphony Orchestra has been tasked with the job. “Let the magic begin The grandeur gets grander..! #Shaakuntalam RR sessions with Symphony Orchestra Budapest, in Hungary,” posted film’s leading light Samantha on Thursday along with a YouTube link to the group of musicians who are on the job. The video offers a glimpse of musicians, with different instruments, performing in complete sync to the conductor.

A whimsical tale, Shaakuntalam, based on Kalidasa's acclaimed Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam, revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant, portrayed by Samantha and Dev Mohan (Malayalam) respectively.

Dr M Mohan Babu will be seen playing a key supporting role, while the likes of Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla and Jisshu Sengupta round out the other supporting cast.

Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha essays the role of Prince Bharata, son of Shakuntala and Dushyant, thus marking her tinsel town debut.

Shaakuntalam is presented by Dil Raju via Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Gunaa Teamworks and is produced by Neelima Guna.

The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
