After a long holiday in the US, Sharwanand has returned to Hyderabad recently and the work on his upcoming two projects—one with Loser fame Abhilash Reddy and another with Samajavaragamana fame Ram Abbaraju— is in full swing. While the likes of Samyuktha Menon and Sakshi Vaidya are paired opposite Sharwa in Abbaraju’s film, which will be produced by AK Entertainments, idlebrain.com has exclusively learnt that Malvika Nair is cast opposite Sharwa in his flick with Abhilash. No stranger to strong lead roles, Malvika has demonstrated time and again that she can carry a film in any genre.

A source close to the development tells us, “The female lead role in Abhilash’s film has a lot of scope for performance and the makers thought who better than Malvika to pull it off? She was later approached. She liked the story and the way her character was etched, prompting her to sign on the dotted line immediately after the narration. She will join the sets in the first schedule itself which will commence from February 3rd week and will go on for 20 days in Hyderabad.”

The source goes on to add that the as-yet untitled film is a period family drama with an interesting backdrop. “The backdrop has never been explored on Telugu celluloid before and the makers are gung-ho about it being the biggest USP of the film and they will reveal it in the first teaser, which they are planning to drop for Ugadi. The likes of Harsha Vardhan and Ravindra Vijay are on board for supporting roles. Ghibran, on the other hand, has been signed on as the tunesmith. He was chosen for his reputation as a background score specialist and the fact that he had successful partnerships with production house UV Creations in the past. This film too has a rich scope for re-recording.”

We’ve also learnt that J Yuvraj, who shot films like Sir, Sreekaram and Maestro, is the cinematographer of Abhilash’s film, while Rajeevan will be the art director.
