Although he played a cameo in Nandamuri Balakrishna-headlined Gautamiputra Satakarni, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar’s first major brush with Telugu cinema will be with Ram Charan-starrer #RC16, which is on sets in Hyderabad right now. He is on board for a crucial supporting turn in the film written and directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana. Having defeated cancer, Shivanna as he is fondly addressed by his fans, is slated to join the sets of #RC16 shortly. Our sources tell us exclusively that he’s also green-lit another Telugu film. It will be directed by Siddharth SJ who burst on to the scene as a cameraman with Sree Vishnu-starrer Thipparameesam. He later went on to associate with director Vijay Kanakamedala for films like Naandhi and Ugramm, earning encomiums for his work.
A source close to the development confirms to us, “Shivanna’s film with Siddharth will be a slice of life affair with a lot of dark humour. Both the actor and the director have been discussing this story since last year. The project is now locked. It’s a universal story which will resonate with everyone.”
The source adds that the untitled film will be shot in Telugu and Kannada simultaneously and will roll mostly after Shivanna completes his part in #RC16. “The actor has also shot some parts of a Kannada film that he committed to last year and he will finish it before joining #RC16. So Siddharth is looking to get off the ground in May this year. The dialogue version is going on right now,” the source concludes.
