In light of the ongoing strike in Tollywood, a group of rising producers held a press meet at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad, to voice the challenges they are facing in film production. Notable attendees included producers SKN,Dheeraj Mogilineni, Razesh Danda, Chaitanya from Prime Show, Sharath from Chai Bisket, Anurag, Madhura Sreedhar, Maheshwar Reddy, Rakesh Varre, and others.

Producer Razesh Danda said, "The industry can only thrive if small producers are doing well. We are already struggling, and the strike by film workers demanding a 30% wage hike is putting additional pressure on us. We had planned to release our film for Diwali, but now we’ve had to halt the shoot. Out of 150 junior artists on paper, barely 50 show up on set. Where is the money going? Payments from OTT and dubbing films are delayed, but we are expected to pay on time every single day. Is that even feasible?"

Producer Madhura Sreedhar Reddy said, "Even for a small scene, we need union permission to run a generator. For a simple scene with a hero and his friend, we are forced to hire makeup, costumes, production staff around 80 people - when only 6 are actually needed. Yet we’re expected to pay everyone. Why should we carry this burden?"

Producer Chaitanya from Prime Show said, "The situation of producers is dire, not just here but across the globe. Filmmaking is suffering everywhere - from cinema to IT and real estate. Everyone is working with hope. Forcing producers to hire a fixed number of people, instead of allowing them to choose, isn’t right. Producers create employment. No producer is truly happy right now. I hope this issue is resolved soon."

Producer Vamsi Nandipati said, "Making films has become a costly affair. Movies that should be made with ₹2 crore are ending up costing four to five times more. The business from theatres doesn’t justify this spending. If union members stepped into our shoes for a moment, they’d understand our struggles."

Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni said, "We all entered this industry out of passion. We’re requesting that unions not place unnecessary burden on us. These unions have existed for years, but their rules need to adapt to current realities. For a shoot that requires fewer people, being forced to hire 100–150 is unreasonable. Valuable resources are being wasted. These strikes help no one."

Producer Rakesh Varre said, "Earlier, I completed a film using local talent and union workers for ₹1.5 crore. Now, using only union workers, a film costs ₹8 crore. For a small film, there’s barely any business. In such times, how can we recover ₹8 crore? No one steps in to help when a producer suffers losses."

Producer Sharath from Chai Bisket said, "We’re working with newcomers. The union rules are becoming a hurdle for small producers like us. Rather than treating producers and unions as separate entities, we believe a solution can be found if everyone comes together and talks."

Producer SKN shared, "90% of the industry consists of small films. We don’t hold positions or power - we only have our voices. This press meet is not about groupism but about expressing our concerns. Only the one laying the egg knows the pain. You want a 30% hike? Take 50% if needed. But can you guarantee we’ll recover our investments through theatrical revenues or any other means? Some big producers claim every movie is a pan-India film - that's not our reality. There’s no enforcement of the agreement that suggested a 25% wage cut for small films. All productions are being treated the same, whether big or small. We carry the burden of arranging finances and meeting release deadlines, yet we often return home with empty pockets and only the satisfaction of being a producer."

He added, "Only a handful of actors earn hundreds of crores. Our hero, Kiran Abbavaram, stood by Chennai Love Story and supported us understanding the situation. How many such actors exist? In this scenario, how can we even think of asking for a 30% wage hike? Ticket price hikes apply only to a handful of films. We are not rising producers - we are burning producers. We appear dignified on the outside but are struggling within."

"People are questioning us, wondering why we’re speaking up. But can any producer guarantee profits from any film? Where do the Directors' Association or Movie Artists Association stand on these issues? If needed, we’re ready to stop making films. Who has the right to demand how many people we must hire or how much we should pay? When we’re struggling with no business, is a 30% wage hike fair? Some producers are pushing their own agendas under the guise of supporting film workers. Each craft must decide where it stands. You can’t keep asking for rights while ignoring responsibilities. If the unions don’t change, we’ll work with those who fit our budgets. Making films is not about comfort - it’s about passion."

He concluded by urging the governments of both Telugu states to look into the difficulties faced by small producers. "We must think collectively, not selfishly. No hero is saying he won’t shoot without a hike - they understand the situation. The unions must also work with the mindset that this is our industry and our producers."

టాలీవుడ్ లో ప్రస్తుతం నెలకొన్న సమ్మె పరిస్థితుల నేపథ్యంలో రైజింగ్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్ చిత్ర నిర్మాణంలో తాము ఎదుర్కొంటున్న సవాళ్లను ప్రెస్ మీట్ ద్వారా తెలియజేశారు. హైదరాబాద్ ప్రసాద్ ల్యాబ్స్ లో జరిగిన ఈ ప్రెస్ మీట్ లో నిర్మాతలు ఎస్ కేఎన్, ధీరజ్, రాజేశ్ దండా, ప్రైమ్ షో చైతన్య, ఛాయ్ బిస్కట్ శరత్, అనురాగ్, మధుర శ్రీధర్, మహేశ్వర్ రెడ్డి, రాకేశ్ వర్రె, తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు. ఈ ప్రెస్ మీట్ లో

నిర్మాత రాజేశ్ దండా మాట్లాడుతూ - చిన్న నిర్మాతలు బాగుంటేనే ఇండస్ట్రీ బాగుంటుంది. ఇప్పటికే ఇబ్బందుల్లో ఉన్న మా లాంటి నిర్మాతలకు 30 శాతం వేతనాలు పెంచాలంటూ సినీ కార్మికులు చేస్తున్న సమ్మె మరింత ఇబ్బందిపెడుతోంది. మా సినిమా దీపాళికి రిలీజ్ చేయాలని ప్లాన్ చేశాం. ఇప్పుడు సమ్మె వల్ల షూటింగ్ ఆపేయాల్సివచ్చింది. లెక్క చూస్తే 150 మంది జూనియర్ ఆర్టిస్టులు ఉంటారు. కానీ సెట్ లో 50 మంది కూడా ఉండరు. వాళ్లకు ఇస్తున్న డబ్బు ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తోంది. ఓటీటీ, డ‌బ్బింగ్ సినిమాల‌కు డ‌బ్బులు ఏవీ టైంకు రావ‌ట్లేదు. కానీ, మేం మాత్రం ఏ రోజుకి ఆ రోజు డ‌బ్బులివ్వాలంటే అయ్యే ప‌నేనా?. అన్నారు.

నిర్మాత మధుర శ్రీధర్ రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ - ఒక చిన్న సీన్ చేయాలనుకుని జెనరేటర్ పెట్టాలన్నా యూనియన్ పర్మిషన్ కావాలి. హీరో, ఫ్రెండ్ సీన్ కోసం మేకప్, కాస్ట్యూమ్స్, వాళ్లకు వడ్డించే ప్రొడక్షన్..ఇలా 80 మందిని పెట్టుకోవాలి. చిన్న నిర్మాతకు ఇంతమందిని పెట్టుకోవడా పెనుభారంగా మారింది. వాస్తవానికి అక్కడ పనిచేసేది ఆరుగురు మాత్రమే. మిగతా వాళ్లకు పేమెంట్స్ ఇవ్వాలి. ఇంత మందిని మా నెత్తిన రుద్దడం ఏంటనేది పెద్ద ప్రశ్నగా మారింది. అన్నారు.

నిర్మాత ప్రైమ్ షో చైతన్య మాట్లాడుతూ - సినీ నిర్మాతల పరిస్థితి దయనీయంగా ఉంది. మన దగ్గరే కాదు దేశ విదేశాల్లోనూ ఫిలింమేకింగ్ ఇబ్బందుల్లో ఉంది. సినిమానే కాదు ఐటీ, రియల్ ఎస్టేట్ సహా ప్రతి ఇండస్ట్రీ స్లంప్ లో ఉంది. రేపు బాగుంటుందనే అందరూ పనిచేస్తున్నారు. మేము చెప్పిన వాళ్లనే పెట్టుకోండి, ఇంతమందిని ఖచ్చితంగా షూటింగ్ కు తీసుకోవాలి అనడం కరెక్ట్ కాదు. నిర్మాతలు ఎంప్లాయ్ మెంట్ క్రియేట్ చేస్తున్నారు. ఏ నిర్మాత కూడా సంతోషంగా లేడు. ఈ సమస్యను వీలైనంత త్వరగా పరిష్కరిస్తారని కోరుకుంటున్నా. అన్నారు.

నిర్మాత వంశీ నందిపాటి మాట్లాడుతూ - చిత్ర నిర్మాణం భారంగా మారుతోంది. రెండు కోట్ల రూపాయల్లో చేయాల్సిన సినిమాకు నాలుగైదు రెట్ల ఖర్చు అవుతోంది. మా దగ్గరకు రిలీజ్ చేయమని వచ్చే సినిమాలు చూస్తే 2 కోట్లలో చేయాల్సినవి అనిపిస్తాయి కానీ వాళ్లు నాలుగైదు రెట్లు ఎక్కువ అయ్యింది అని చెబుతారు. థియేటర్స్ నుంచి అంత డబ్బులు రావడం లేదు. ఇంత ప్రొడక్షన్ ఖర్చు ఎందుకు అవుతోంది. సినీ కార్మిక సంఘాలు ఒకసారి నిర్మాత స్థానంలోకి వచ్చి ఆలోచిస్తే మా బాధలు తెలుస్తాయి. అన్నారు.

నిర్మాత ధీరజ్ మొగిలినేని మాట్లాడుతూ - మేమంతా ఇండస్ట్రీకి ప్యాషన్ తో వచ్చాం. సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నాం. యూనియన్స్ పేరుతో మాకు భారాన్ని పెంచవద్దని కోరుతున్నాం. ఈ యూనియన్స్ ఎప్పటినుంచో ఉన్నాయి. వాటి నిబంధనలు ఇప్పుడున్న పరిస్థితుల ప్రకారం మార్చాలి. తక్కువ మంది తో సరిపోయే షూటింగ్ లో 100, 150 మందిని పెట్టాలని దౌర్జన్యం చేస్తున్నారు. ఒక సెట్ కోసమో, ఇంకో క్వాలిటీ కోసమే మేము పెట్టాల్సిన ఖర్చు ఇలా వృథా అవుతోంది. ఈ బంద్ ల వల్ల ఎవరికీ ఉపయోగం లేదు. అన్నారు.

నిర్మాత రాకేశ్ వర్రె మాట్లాడుతూ - నేను గతంలో ఒక సినిమాను లోకల్ టాలెంట్, యూనియన్ కార్మికులను కలిపి చేస్తే కోటిన్నర అయ్యింది. ఇప్పుడు మొత్తం యూనియన్ కార్మికులతో చేస్తే 8 కోట్ల రూపాయలు ఖర్చు అయ్యింది. చిన్న సినిమాకు అసలు బిజినెస్ లేదు. అలాంటి టైమ్ లో నాకు 8 కోట్ల బిజినెస్ ఎలా అవుతుంది. నష్టం నాకు వస్తుంది. ఒక ప్రొడ్యూసర్ నష్టపోతే ఆదుకునేందుకు ఎవరూ రారు. అన్నారు.

ప్రొడ్యూసర్ చాయ్ బిస్కెట్ శరత్ మాట్లాడుతూ - మేము కొత్తవాళ్లతో సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నాం. యూనియన్స్ రూల్స్ వల్ల మాలాంటి చిన్న నిర్మాతలకు ఇబ్బందిగా ఉంది. నిర్మాతలు, యూనియన్స్ అని సెపరేట్ కాకుండా అందరూ కూర్చుని మాట్లాడుకుంటే ఈ సమస్యలు సాల్వ్ అవుతాయని భావిస్తున్నా. అన్నారు.

నిర్మాత ఎస్ కేఎన్ మాట్లాడుతూ - ఇండస్ట్రీలో 90 శాతం సినిమాలు చిన్న నిర్మాతలవే. మాకు పదవులు లేవు, మాట్లాడేందుకు పెదవులు తప్ప. ఇది గ్రూపిజం కోసం పెట్టిన ప్రెస్ మీట్ కాదు. చిన్న నిర్మాతలుగా మా బాధలు చెప్పుకునేందుకు పెట్టిన ప్రెస్ మీట్. గుడ్డు పెట్టేవాడికే తెలుస్తుంది బాధ. మీకు 30శాతం కాదు 50శాతం పెంచుతాం. కానీ థియేట్రికల్ గా రెవెన్యూ పరంగా, మేము పెట్టిన ఖర్చు పరంగా, ఏ రూపంలో అయినా మాకు పెట్టుబడి తిరిగొస్తుందని మీరు గ్యారెంటీ ఇవ్వగలరా. అన్నీ పాన్ ఇండియా సినిమాలు అవుతున్నాయని పెద్ద నిర్మాతలు కొందరు అంటున్నారు. మీ పరిస్థితి వేరు, చిన్న నిర్మాతల పరిస్థితి వేరు. చిన్న సినిమాలకు 25 పర్సెంట్ తగ్గించండి వేతనాలు అని ఫెడరేషన్ తో ఒప్పందం చేసుకుంటే దాన్ని వాళ్లు పాటిస్తున్నారా లేదు. ఏ సినిమాకైనా అదే కష్టం అంటూ పెద్ద సినిమాలతో సమానంగా వేతనాలు తీసుకుంటున్నారు. ఫైనాన్స్ కట్టుకోవాలి, చెప్పిన డేట్ కు సినిమా రిలీజ్ చేయాలి వంటి ఎన్నో టెన్షన్స్ మాలో ఉంటాయి. రోజూ అన్ని ఖర్చులు పెట్టి, ఖాళీ జేబులతో ఇంటికి వెళ్తుంటాం. ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్ మేము అని సంతృప్తి పడతాం. వందల కోట్లు తీసుకునే హీరోలు ఒకరిద్దరే. మా హీరో కిరణ్ అబ్బవరం చెన్నై లవ్ స్టోరీకి ఎంతో సపోర్ట్ చేశారు. పరిస్థితి అర్థం చేసుకుని ముందు మంచి సినిమా చేద్దామని ముందుకొచ్చారు. అలాంటి హీరోలు ఎంతమంది ఉంటారు. ఇలాంటి సిచ్యువేషన్స్ ఉంటే మీకు 30శాతం కావాలని ఎలా అడగాలని అనిపిస్తోంది. టికెట్ రేట్సు పెంచుకునేంది వేళ్ల మీద లెక్కపెట్టేన్ని సినిమాలకే. మేము రైజింగ్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్ కాదు బర్నింగ్ ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్. మాది మేకపోతు గాంభీర్యమే. చాలా మంది నిర్మాతలకు ఏంటి అని మాట్లాడుతున్నారు. ఇక్కడ ఈ సినిమాతో డబ్బులు వస్తాయని గ్యారెంటీ ఇచ్చే నిర్మాత ఎవరైనా ఉన్నారా. డైరెక్టర్స్ అసోసియేషన్, మూవీ ఆర్టిస్ట్స్ అసోసియేషన్ ఎవరి వైపు ఉన్నారో స్పష్టత ఇవ్వాలి. కావాలంటే మేము సినిమాలు తీయడం ఆపేస్తాం. షూటింగ్ కు ఇంతమందిని తీసుకోవాలి, ఇంత డబ్బు ఇవ్వాలని డిమాండ్ చేసే హక్కు మీకెక్కడిది. అసలు బిజినెస్ లేదని మేము బాధపడుతుంటే 30 పర్సెంట్ పెంచాలని డిమాండ్ చేయడం ఎంతవరకు కరెక్ట్. కొందరు నిర్మాతలు తమ కేసులు, జెండాలు, అజెండాల మేరకు కార్మికులు అందరికీ ఒకేలా వేతనాలు పెంచాలని అంటున్నారు. సినీ కార్మికుల ముసుగులో తమ స్వలాభం కోసం చూస్తున్నారు. ప్రతి క్రాఫ్ట్ వాళ్లు మీరు ఎవరి వైపు ఉంటారో తేల్చుకోండి. మీరు డిమాండ్స్ మాత్రమే చేసి హక్కులు మర్చిపోతే ఎలా. మీరు మారకుంటే మా బడ్జెట్ లో వచ్చేవాళ్లతో సినిమాలు నిర్మించుకుంటాం. సినిమాకు మాకు కంఫర్ట్ కాదు ప్యాషన్. రెండు తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల ప్రభుత్వాలు కూడా మాలాంటి చిన్న నిర్మాతలు పడుతున్న ఇబ్బందులపై దృష్టి పెట్టాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేస్తున్నా. అందరూ బాగుండాలి అని అనుకోవాలి గానీ మేము మాత్రమే బాగుండాలని యూనియన్స్ వాళ్లు ఆలోచించడం సరికాదు. ఏ హీరో కూడా మాకింత ఇవ్వకుంటే షూటింగ్స్ బంద్ అనడం లేదు. పరిస్థితి అర్థం చేసుకుని సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నారు. యూనియన్స్ కూడా ఇది మన ఇండస్ట్రీ మన ప్రొడ్యూసర్స్ అనే భావనతో పనిచేయాలి. అన్నారు.
