After impressing one and all with her performances in Goodachari and Major, Sobhita Dhulipala has green-lit her next Telugu venture. The actress, who straddles between Mumbai and the south for her work is headlining the untitled film, which Suresh Babu is producing under his esteemed Suresh Productions.
A source close to the development tells us exclusively, “Sobhita’s new venture is an investigative thriller with a family touch to it. It is set in the backdrop of Hyderabad. Her character, its graph and story in total prompted the usually choosy actress to come on board. The fact that it is being shepherded by Suresh Babu, who ensured that the script ticks all the boxes for a thrilling whodunit, was another reason. The film will mark the directorial debut of Chandra, who was associated with acclaimed filmmakers Raj-DK for a long time.”
The source adds that the film has gone to floors recently and it’s been shot for a week so far, with the next schedule set to begin after Sobhita’s wedding to Naga Chaitanya next month. “Vishwadev Rachakonda, who made everyone sit up and take notice of his explosive potential with 35: Chinna Katha Kaadu is playing an important role, which is central to the narrative, while the likes of veteran actress Lakshmi, Aamani, Jhansi, Krishna Chaitany and Ravindra Vijay are playing supporting roles.”
The source further points out that like with all his recent ventures, chances are that Suresh Babu will be partnering with another production to distribute the film.
