For the past couple of days, unconfirmed reports about a possible casting coup in Spirit, which marks Rebel star Prabhas teaming up with the very successful director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, are swirling around.

Apparently, South Korean-American actor Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee, who is known for his turns in films Train to Busan, The Outlaws, Unstoppable, The Cop, The Devil, The Gangster, Champion, Derailed, The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos and MCU's Eternals, has been cast as the antagonist in Spirit, fueling a great deal of excitement among Prabhas fans.

A little digging confirmed that Sandeep Vanga is indeed looking at international names for the project and has even thought of some names. “However, he hasn’t approached anyone yet. If anyone does come on board, the official announcement will be made,” revealed a source.

Spirit, which will mark Sandeep Vanga coming back to the Telugu cinema fold after Arjun Reddy, will see Prabhas in the role of a cop and is believed to be a hard-hitting action-drama. T Series, Bhadrakali Pictures and People Media Factory are jointly producing it. The principal photography will kick off towards the end of this year.

Meanwhile, Prabhas’s latest, Kalki 2898 AD, continues its ascendancy at the box office. It has crossed the Rs 900 gross mark and it looks to add plenty more to its tally until Kamal Haasan-starrer Bharateeyudu 2 arrives later this week.
