Featuring Suhas, Ruhani Sharma, Viraj Ashwin, and Karthik Ratnam in the lead roles, the teaser of Sri Ranga Neethulu was dropped by the makers on Friday and it promises to be a coming-of-age drama peppered with romance and humour.
The one-minute-40-second video opens with a scholar (played by Tanikella Bharani) stating that if you want to see whether the society is headed forward or backward, you just have to observe the ways of Gen Z. The teaser then cuts to the life of Suhas, who is a lower middle-class youth from Amberpet, Hyderabad. He believes in showing off and the problems that come with it seem to form a part of his story, while another track delves into the love story of characters played by Viraj Ashwin and Ruhani Sharma. Everything is going smoothly in their relationship until Viraj wants to take it to the next level and asks Ruhani to inform her parents about their story. But she is hesitant. We have to wait for the trailer or the film to know more about her problem. The third track is that of Karthik Ratnam who sits at home and does nothing. He is also into drugs. When confronted by his father (Devi Prasad), Karthik asks him, “What’s your problem?” The father replies, “You should progress in your career.” Karthik replies, “Should I progress in my career or should I act according to your wishes.”
Overall, the teaser seems to focus on the problems of today's youth and that seems to be the biggest USP of the film. It promises to be a refreshing drama that can resonate with Gen Z sans commercial elements. The performances are natural and the dialogues are colloquial. The background score is dramatic and adds to the impact of the teaser.
Also featuring Sanjay Swaroop, Geetha Bhasker, CVL Narasimha Rao, and Jeevan Reddy, the film, directed by Praveen Kumar VSS, is a production venture of Venkateshwara Rao Balmuri under Radhavi Entertainments. Harshavardhan Rameshwaran and Ajay Arasada are scoring music.
