Actor Sumanth and director Santhossh Jagarlapudi are set for an encore after 2018 release Subrahmanyapuram. The untitled project, a mystery devotional thriller, will be launched in Hyderabad on November 14. It is a joint production venture between Girish Kumar Naragani’s GK Movie Makers in association with KR Creations, while Mallidi Satyanarayana Reddy, who produced films like Bunny and Bhageeratha, will be executing it at the production level.

Speaking to idlebrain.com about the project, director Santhossh said, “It revolves around the temple of Varahi Ammavaru. She is one of the Matrikas, a group of seven mother goddesses in the Hindu religion. Bearing the head of a sow, Varahi is the shakti (feminine energy) of Varaha, the boar avatar of the god Vishnu. I’ve taken the concept from our puranas and will be meeting the audience with a new premise. We will roll in December second week, with the shooting taking place in and around Hyderabad, parts of East Godavari and Visakhapatnam. The idea is to wrap it up in three months.”

The director shared that Sumanth reposed faith in him as “Subrahmanyapuram collected a good amount at the box-office”. “We haven’t finalized a leading lady yet. We are looking at a fresh face. Jagapathi Babu and Vennela Kishore are on board for supporting roles. Eeshwar, who was a programmer for Fidaa composer Shakti Kanth Karthick, has been signed on to compose music,” he noted and added that Sumanth will be playing Siddharth, an active member of Jana Vignana Vedika in the film. “He will be dispelling some practices of godmen.”
