The makers of Nara Rohith-starrer Sundarakanda released the film’s teaser at an event in Hyderabad on Monday and it promises to be a light-hearted drama with Rohith at his comic best.
Close to one-and-a-half minutes in length, the teaser opens with Siddharth (Rohith) who is born in moola nakshatra, which means he can’t remain happy for more than five minutes. He has slightly passed the average age to get married while his father (Naresh Vijaya Krishna) believes his son has no problems whatsoever except that he is the problem. Siddharth is expecting five qualities in a woman to tie the knot. A character played by Vasuki Anand ticks him off saying that finding a girl with those qualities is next to impossible. However, he is determined. Will he find one seems to form the crux of the story!
In conclusion, the teaser is pleasant, vibrant and chronicles the travails of a man who is desperate to find a woman who has the qualities that she desires in her. Rohith is playing a man who many unmarried men can relate to and the situations he sees himself evoke laughter, with his uncanny sense of comic timing still intact despite his long absence from films. The background score complements the theme of the film well.
Directed by debutant Venkatesh Nimmalapudi and produced by Santhosh Chinnapolla, Gowtham Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankalli under the banner of Sandeep Picture Palace (SPP), the film is a Leon James musical. Vriti Vaghani, Sri Devi Vijay Kumar, Vasuki Anand, Satya, Ajay, VTV Ganesh, Abhinav Gomatam, Viswant, Rupa Lakshmi, Sunaina and Raghu Babu are playing supporting roles.
