The mortal remains of superstar Krishna were consigned to flames inside the Mahaprasthanam in Hyderabad on Wednesday with full police honours, marking the culmination of a glorious career as one of Telugu cinema's most loved icons.

Krishna was given a gun salute, following which the police band paid him a tribute at the crematorium.

Earlier in the day, a large number of his fans and people from all walks of his life descended on Padmalaya Studios in large numbers to get a last glimpse of the acting legend.

A little earlier, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan paid floral tributes, as did his cabinet colleague Roja and consoled Krishna’s grieving family. Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan also paid floral tributes to the departed soul while remembering his yeoman services to Telugu cinema.

His mortal remains were taken as a procession till Mahaprasthanam in a specially decorated vehicle.
