For the past many days, director Parasuram is at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad monitoring dubbing and final edit corrections of his anticipated Sarkaru Vaari Paata (SVP), headlined by superstar Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh, while simultaneously squeezing time for promotions. He is also checking the final trimming of the trailer, which will be out on May 2. Giving a small peek into it, Parasuram, speaking exclusively to idlebrain, asserts, “It will be wonderful. It’s a well-packaged trailer and for Mahesh fans, it will be a shock. It will take five minutes for them to come out of its impact. His mannerisms will be on a different-level altogether.”
The biggest highlight of the film, the director notes, will be the story. “It’s a strong story aided with strong sequences. It’s well-crafted…. Everything is a plus for the film from the music side, heroine character and writing,” he states, adding that when the story originated in his head, the first and last actor he imagined for it was Mahesh Babu. “Honestly, Sarkaru Vaari Paata was born for Mahesh. My first option was him and God-willing I narrated it to him and he connected to it very well, setting off our journey. The writing part—from his characterization, dialogue delivery and body language—became easier because he was my only choice. It was like a picnic.”
Was he disappointed that Penny and the title track didn’t receive as much love as that of Kalavathi song? “No, not at all! They might not have reached everyone but they didn’t get a bad name as well. At the same time you can’t compare Kalavathi with the other songs. It’s very rare to get an album full of Kalavathi kind of reception,” he observes.
He promises that the film will have his signature romance in abundance compared to his previous films. “For a story of SVP scale, I got good placement for such scenes and I’ve captured them well. The film will be a pleasant one with a new type of narration. It will mesmerize the audience while being casual,” he avers.
According to the director, the lyrical video of the mass song, which everyone is talking about, will be out after the pre-release event. It was shot for five days at RFC earlier this month under the choreography of Sekhar master. “You’ll see a never seen Mahesh. Iragadeesadu (he nailed it)... The production design and costumes… it will be an eye feast,” he assures, admitting that he would have completed the film a little earlier if not for the pandemic. “Because of pandemic-related precautions, the percentage of work day-wise has taken a hit. Otherwise, I would’ve completed it in 120 days instead of 140.”
