The teaser of Sree Vishnu-starrer Swag was released by the makers at an event in Hyderabad on Thursday and it’s a Sree Vishnu-show altogether.
A little over two minutes, the teaser opens with a voice over which states that many centuries ago, under the sovereignty of Rukmini Devi (played by Ritu Varma) the existence of a man was threatened. Rukmini harbours strong dislike for men and it is evident when her servants and soldiers are asked to conceal their faces with a cloth. In fact she wouldn’t hesitate to kill a baby boy if she were to give birth to one. However, her dynasty is cursed not to bear male children anymore. We later get to see many avatars of Sree Vishnu as Bhavabhuthi, Singa, and Yayathi, and it’s obvious that a ton of work has gone into the detailing of each of these avatars, with Bhavabhuthi especially standing out. The likes of Meera Jasmine, Sunil, Ravi Babu, Daksha Nagarkar, and Saranya Pradeep are also introduced in the teaser.
Overall, the teaser packs a punch and introduces us into the world of Swag and the many avatars Vishnu donned for the project. Replete with comedy bursts and thrill, the teaser offers a narrative that seems to have woven hilarity with drama. Vishnu shows his versatility and each character of his is distinct from the other, while Ritu Varma commands the screen as a queen and later as a modern woman with strong feminist values. In short, Hasith seems to have cooked something delicious and this teaser is just aroma wafting through the dish.
