The release trailer of Nithiin-starrer Thammudu is here and it takes us on a roller-coaster ride of heart-thumping and tense moments, offering a peek into its treacherous world, where one man battles to honour his promise to his sister.

Spanning two minutes and 24 seconds, the trailer opens with Nithiin in a meditative pose reflecting upon his mother’s death after his birth. His sister played by Laya raises him. “She is both mother and father to me,” he adds. But soon a friction causes them to go their individual ways, with a character played by Varsha Bollamma suggesting to Nithiin that he can never call himself as her brother. After a point, Laya sees herself in grave danger possibly due to her work, while Nithiin states that he will stand by her during her tough times come what may. Next up, we are introduced to the ominous villain Saurabh Sachdeva (Pushpa 2 fame) who believes in creation after destruction. Like with the trailer, writer-director Venu Sriram chooses not to reveal the plot, the clip, however, is filled with high-octane action against a harrowing background.

In conclusion, the trailer manages to whisk away the viewers into the world of Thammudu dotted with brother-sister emotion, intense action and a corporate man who is hell-bent on destruction of the nature, all wrapped in a unique visual style that is so untypical of Sriram Venu. It’s obvious that the director is treading new grounds here and he succeeds. The cinematography and background score elevate his vision to next level, creating a visually stunning and suspenseful atmosphere. The trailer teases a gripping story of a desperate brother to honour the promise he made to his sister, unraveling into a terrifying fight against dark forces amid suspense. Nithiin is sincere and seems to have delivered a measured performance while Laya, Sachdeva and Bollamma are first-rate. SVC seems to have spent big bucks on making the film look so grand.

Also featuring Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, Temper Vamshi and Chammak Chandra, Thammudu breezes into cinemas on July 4th.
