Headlined by Siddu Jonnalagadda, Tillu Square, which opened in theatres all over on Friday, has had a fantastic day one at the box office. With positive word-of-mouth and favourable reviews trickling in from the morning show itself, day one only got better as it progressed.

According to Sithara Entertainments, which produced the film along with Fortune Four Cinemas, the film registered a gross of 23.7 crore on day 1. The number is staggering for an actor like Siddu who is taking his baby steps as a star.

In overseas, the film is performing phenomenally well. The gross from there is $1.2 million and counting. In the US, the premiers and day 1 numbers combined would be around $ 1 million. Overall, the film’s day 1 numbers are better than that of Guntur Kaaram from the same production house. At the rate at which it is going, it is set to become the second biggest Telugu grosser of the year in North America. And as prophesied by Naga Vamsi at the success meet yesterday, it shouldn’t be a surprise if it breaches the coveted Rs 100 crore gross mark.

Directed by Mallik Ram, Tillu Square, co-starring Anupama Parameswaran, Muralidhar Goud, Prince, Murali Sharma and Brahmaji, is a romantic crime comedy. It is a sequel to the 2022 hit film DJ Tillu which starred Siddu and Neha Shetty. Tillu’s characterisation, rib-tickling humour, catchy one-liners and peppy songs have worked in favour of the sequel big time.
