On international mother’s day Sunday, Upasana Konidela, who is soon going to become a mother, said that she is “proud to embrace motherhood for all the right reasons”.

Taking to her social media pages, Upasana, who is married to Ram Charan, stated that her decision to become a mom was not driven by a wish to carry on a legacy. “I did not do it to conform to society's expectations or to fit. My decision to become a mother was not driven by a desire to carry on a legacy or to strengthen my marriage,” she noted.

She added, “I chose to have a child when I was emotionally prepared to give unconditional love & care that my child deserves for his/her overall well-being.”

Upasana is due in July. Her delivery will be taking place in India and she will be surrounded by a top-notch OB/GYN team that includes Dr Sumana Manohar, Dr Rooma Sinha, and Dr Jennifer Ashton.

Ram Charan and Upasana got married on June 14, 2012 at a glittering ceremony at Temple Trees Farm House in Hyderabad attended by celebs from all walks of life. Upasana is a businesswoman. The two met through a common friend and fell in love. Both of them celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last year in Italy.
