The first glimpse of Pawan Kalyan from Ustaad Bhagat Singh (UBS) has broken the internet, accumulating 14 million lakhs of views by Friday 11 am. And more importantly, it didn’t have a trace of Theri, the film of which is serving as the inspiration for UBS.
A little digging by us told that director Harish Shankar has given a complete new spin to the remake and is approaching the film as a fresh one. “One can see just 10% of Theri in Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Remaining 90% of the script consists of freshly written content and making it a near original mass entertainer that explores power star Pawan Kalyan’s strength and stamina to the peak,” said sources.
Harish is no stranger to giving remakes his own punch. He did so with Gabbar Singh, which was the remake of Dabangg, and Gaddalakonda Ganesh, which was the remake of Jigarthanda. With UBS, he is going the extra mile and is almost serving an original entertainer., playing to the strength of the power star. That should satiate the fans who mercilessly trolled him for taking up Theri.
UBS, which has been filmed for little over a week in Hyderabad, sees Sree Leela opposite Pawan, while the likes of Ashutosh Rana, Nawab Shah, KGF fame Avinash, Gauthami, Narra Srinu, Naga Mahesh and Temper Vamsi round off the supporting cast. A Mythri Movie Makers production, the film is a Devi Sri Prasad musical.
