Presently a part of Nani’s next with debutant director Shouryuv, Sita Ramam girl Mrunal Thakur has landed another biggie. Sources tell us exclusively that she is almost confirmed to be the leading lady opposite Vijay Deverakonda in his next with Parasuram.

A source close to the development chips in, “There were other options before Parasuram but he felt the fresh pairing of Deverakonda and Mrunal would be a big boost to his script and tilted towards the Super 30 girl. The actress loved the narration, her role and is right now in the final round of negotiations with the makers. Like with all his previous female lead characters, Parasuram has etched a strong characterization for Mrunal.”

This untitled project, a production venture of Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, marks Vijay reteaming with Parasuram after the blockbuster Geetha Govindam. It is touted to be a family entertainer with a touch of romance and humour. The official launch is around the corner in Hyderabad. It will go in front of the cameras after Vijay completes a schedule of Gowtam Tinnanuri’s film. However, release-wise though, it will take precedence.

On the technical front, Gopi Sunder, with whom Parasuram earlier worked for Geetha Govindam and delivered a super hit soundtrack, is tipped to be the film’s music director.
