Together, they’ve delivered the super hit Taxiwaala (2018), and now they are set for an encore. Yes, we are talking about the combination of actor Vijay Deverakonda and writer-director Rahul Sankrityan. We have exclusively learnt that after the successful Shyam Singha Roy, which released in the December of 2021, Sankrityan has come up with a kick-ass script that got Deverakonda all excited.
A source close to the development reveals, “Sankrityan has been working on an ambitious story for some time and he pitched it to Deverakonda recently. The actor, who has been meticulous about his selection of movies after the debacle of Liger, took a strong liking to it immediately. It’s a period drama with a lot of action. Plus, it’s a challenging script. It requires the actor to be at his absolute best.”
The source adds, “The story discussions are going on still but the fact remains Deverakonda has nodded to it. He is thrilled to join forces with Sankrityan with whom he had a great time working on Taxiwaala. He knew back then itself that the writer-director will be a force to reckon with in the years to come. Leading production house Mythri Movie Makers will be pooling in resources for this project. It will be their third association with Deverakonda after Dear Comrade and Kushi.”
Right now, Deverakonda, who is celebrating his birthday today, is filming for Kushi in Cochin along with Samantha. He also has two other projects in his kitty: one with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri, which was launched last week in Hyderabad, and the other with Parasuram.
