Vijay Deverakonda has been among the fewest actors in Telugu cinema whose career graph drastically changed with one film alone - Arjun Reddy. Ever since, his reach has only expanded with every project. He’s currently a part of two films - Family Star with Parasuram Petla and VD 12, helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.

He has been in the news recently about his engagement with Rashmika Mandanna scheduled for February. While none of the actors responded to the reports, Vijay finally cleared the air around the matter and dismissed it as a rumour that resurfaces every year.

“I’m not getting engaged or married in February. It feels like the press just wants to get me married every two years. I hear this rumour every year. They’re just walking around waiting to catch me and get me married,” the Geetha Govindam star said in an interview with a popular magazine.

In the conversation, he also spoke of Liger’s failure and how he coped with its indifferent response. The star said he couldn’t have changed anything about the film. He reportedly said yes to the project only after liking the script and genuinely wanted to collaborate with Puri Jagannadh.

“I gave it my everything. In hindsight there could have been things that could have been better about it but there’s nothing that I can change, and I don’t even think about changing it. It was a part of my life; I gave a few years to it, and I moved on. That’s life. You keep doing things. Some will work and some won’t.”
