Virgin Story, featuring Vikram, is a film made a decade in advance. It would have grabbed more eyeballs had it been titled as Virgin Story 2032 AD. It should be viewed as an imagination of how the world around us would be and how the culture changes 10 years from now.

Essaying the role of a 19-year-old grappling with the complexities of love, sex, and societal expectations, Vikram has done a remarkable job.

While the subject matter deals more with the American or Uber urban psyche, therefore restricting its appeal, the film, however, manages to present a bold and unique vision of contemporary urban life, mirroring people’s behavior and openness about sex to near perfection. The ending takes the cake and it’s mature as well.

While narrating a debatable subject matter, it's critical to drive home the point all through its running time not just the climax and the director does that here effortlessly.

While Virgin Story is not without its share of faults, it still packs a punch as a thought-provoking film that’s worth your time for its eccentric perspective and impressive performances,
