Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon-starrer Virupaksha is chugging on with immense steam at the box office. After clocking an impressive Rs 12 crore gross on day one, the film, as expected, enjoyed an even better run on Saturday. Normally for a star hero film, day one figures will be usually higher than day two but in Virupaksha’s case, the opposite has transpired. The film has seen a massive 33 percent spurt on Saturday when compared to Friday. The reason attributed is the immense positive word-of-mouth the film received cutting across corners.
Per the makers, the film grossed Rs 16 crore on Saturday, taking the overall tally to Rs 28 crore in just two days. At this rate, the film is poised to reach the breakeven mark under a week in almost all territories. Chances of Sunday figures hovering around more or less Saturday numbers are high. In the US, it has surpassed half a million and is all set to become the highest grosser for Sai DharamTej on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, the film continues to receive its wave of support from the celebs. After mega family extended their best wishes to Sai Dharam Tej and team Virupaksha for a blockbuster response, actor Nandamuri Kalyanram expressed his love for the film. “Loved #Virupaksha. So happy for my brother @IamSaiDharamTej. This film will be special in your career @iamsamyuktha_ @karthikdandu86 your script and it’s execution is very good. @AJANEESHB delivered his best and showed his class with the music. The technical team delivered their absolute best. Prasad garu, Baapi and Sukumar garu, you’ve backed a great script and the output quality is brilliant,” he posted on Twitter on Sunday.
Virupaksha is a mystery thriller which narrates how Surya (Sai Tej) tries to thwart Rudravanam villagers being killed from evil forces. It has been directed by Karthik Dandu, while Sukumar has penned the film’s screenplay. SVCC produced it.
