Actor Vishal has clarified that he will not be entering the electoral battle on YSRCP’s ticket. His name has been attached to Kuppam constituency – the bastion of TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu –for a while. “No, no no,” he said when asked by reporters in Tirupati about him competing from Kuppam. The actor was in Tirupati recently to promote his forthcoming venture Lathi, an action-thriller where he plays a constable. “Before becoming an actor, I worked in Kuppam for three years for my dad's business. I know each lane, the contractors and labourers from the area very well but I’m not contesting on behalf of YCP.”

He, however, seems to be a fan of AP CM YS Jagan. “I love Jagan. That’s it,” he stated.

Will he be contesting from other parts of AP, the journalists wanted to know. “No, I don’t have such thoughts. I compete through films every Friday with other heroes. That is on my mind. Good directors are approaching me with good scripts. The crowd gave me a warm reception here. I earn more than an MLA and receive more love than an MLA. I’m happy right now as an actor,” he stressed.
