The filming of Varun Tej’s next with Express Raja fame Merlapaka Gandhi will start soon. Recently, the unit went to Vietnam, triggering speculations that it will be shot there. However, our sources clarified the makers went on a holiday there and it will not be filmed there.
“Tentatively titled Korean Kanakaraju, the film’s principal photography will kick off towards the end of March or in the first week of April. The makers are looking for an auspicious date to conduct the muhurat. The first couple of schedules will be held in Hyderabad. The unit will then travel to Anantapur for 10-15 days before coming back to Hyderabad for another schedule. The last schedule of more than a month will take place in South Korea,” confirmed a source.
A full-length entertainer laced with tropes of horror, the film will see the likes of Satya, Harsh Vardhan, John Vijay, VTV Ganesh and some noted faces from Jabardasth playing supporting roles, while the female lead opposite Varun will be locked shortly. It is a joint production venture between Krish and Rajeev Reddy’s First Frame Entertainments and UV Creations, with S Thaman serving as the composer.
