It was early last month when news first surfaced about Jr NTR’s participation in War 2, thus hinting at his probable Bollywood debut after his tour de force act in RRR. While an official confirmation from premier production house Yash Raj Films was pending, it was all but confirmed that NTR was indeed headed to Bollywood. Now, lending more weight to the reports, the star of War 2, Hrithik Roshan took to Twitter on Saturday to greet Tarak on his 40th birthday. And guess what? It has a War 2 connection.
“Happy Birthday @tarak9999! Wishing you a joyous day and an action packed year ahead. Awaiting you on the yuddhabhumi my friend. May your days be full of happiness and peace …until we meet Puttina Roju Subhakankshalu Mitrama,” posted Hrithik Roshan. The phrase ‘awaiting you on the yuddhabhumi my friend’ clearly means that Hrithik is waiting for his bête noire (in the film) on the battlefield. Naturally, this tweet of the Bollywood superstar had fans of Tarak erupt in joy and War 2 hint was an added bonus.
Responding to Hrithik, Tarak posted, “Thank you sir for your lovely wish! I’m going to soak in the day today… You should start counting down the days too… Hope you sleep well thinking about what awaits because I want you well rested at the yuddhabhoomi see you soon!”
War 2, a part of Yash Raj Spy Universe, promises a follow-up story of Kabir Dhaliwal, a veteran RAW agent. Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji will be helming the second installment. According to a source, the film is expected to go on the floors later this November. “Tarak and Hrithik’s battle of wits and their fierce showdown will definitely be an action spectacle to remember on the big screen. This move by Aditya Chopra enables War 2 to have the widest audience appeal for a Hindi film and it also widens the box office potential of the film. South India should come alive and connect at a more emotional level with the film because of the presence of their beloved superstar Jr NTR,” the source added.
