With Yashoda completing a week in the cinema halls, Samantha is “overwhelmed with joy and gratitude”.

Stating that the audiences’ appreciation and love for the film is the “greatest gift and support I could have ever asked for”, Samantha wrote on Twitter, “Hearing your whistles and seeing the celebrations at the theatres is proof that all the hard work that the entire team of Yashoda put in was all worth it! I am on cloud nine.”

Thanking her producer Sivalenka Prasad for trusting her with the project, she went on to add, “And I am also grateful to directors, Hari and Harish, with whom it has been an absolute pleasure to work with.”

On a concluding note, she said it was wonderful collaborating and working with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Unni Mukundan who played supporting roles in the film.

A survival thriller, Yashoda revolves around the sensitive subject of surrogate motherhood. Sam plays the titular role Yashoda, a surrogate mother who gets involved in a surrogacy racket inadvertently and later sets out to bring the perpetrators to justice. The likes of Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Divya Sripada, Priyanka Sharma and Kalpika Ganesh rounded out the supporting cast.
