October 9th, Edison, New Jersey, USA: Indian women living in America from all walks of life should have confidence and should feel that they are not alone, said Mrs. Laxmi Devineni who is popularly known as “Laxmakka”, an active leader in the Telugu community. New Jersey’s popular center for Indian events Royal Albert Palace has witnessed a unique, grand and glittering event on Sunday, 6th October evening. More than 1300 women from all walks of life participated in the ‘Ladies Night'.
Well known anchor and actress Udaya Bhanu and Singer Sunitha mesmerized the participants with their amazing talent making the event memorable forever.
Organizer Laxmi Devineni who works for an Immigration Law Firm in New York City as a Client Manger is conducting the Ladies Night in New Jersey for the last few years. She decided to use her knowledge and experience for the community, especially for the Women in need. She is working as the Chair Person of Immigration Committee in Telugu Association of North America (TANA) for the last 6 years. She is actively involved in helping the Indian community.
Welcoming the guests to the grand night, Mrs. Devineni said, “I am glad that my next generation is ready to take the responsibility and today’s event is an example of it“. Mounika Reddy, 28, is the back bone of the whole event and coordinated to make sure it is a grant success, she announced amidst great applause from the crowded audience. Durga Balusu, CEO of Vedika Creations created the beautiful stage for the event. We all came from India, all the way and living in USA. We maintain our culture and traditions. Passing on this culture and the tradition to the next generation should be our first responsibility. These kind of public events will not only give confidence but will greatly inspire every NRI woman and the next generation. Every Indian woman in the US will feel that she is not alone here, said Laxmi in her address. “A happy woman makes the whole family happy and women deserve this kind of entertainment at least once a year”, she said. She thanked all the participants and media for attending the event.
Udaya Bhanu entertained the audience with her amazing anchoring and acting talent. She has been awarded as “Dancing Diva”. Ace Tollywood singer Sunitha mesmerized the audience with her melodious voice and been awarded as a “Queen of Melody”.
Vasantha Gadamsetty, Durga Balusu, Shilpa, Parul Singh, Shilaja, Suguna and my other women of all ages and from different walks of life helped organizing the event.
Kalamandir, Corals and Beads Gallery, Inc and Vedika Creations were grand sponsors for the event. Hiya Jewelers and Varnam Designers were co-sponsors. Not just New Jersey and New York, but many women attended the event from faraway places in the US. Everyone enjoyed the event with mouthwatering food, fun filled entertainment and of course, shopping!
Many sponsors came forward and announced the prizes on the stage. Kalamandir, Deccan Spice, Dr. Chetana, Dentist, ReddyPhoto.com, Dr. Sridevi, Gynecologist and Paradise Biryani gave away gifts on the stage. 14 vendors exhibited the stalls.
