Telugu Association of North America (TANA) organized Backpack donation program to the needy kids of Scott’s Elementary School, Harrisburg, PA on Thursday October 8th 2015. Ravi Potluri – TANA Joint Secretary and Prakash Battineni- Regional Coordinator of TANA Mid-Atlantic area attended the event. Satish Chundru (TANA Harrisburg City Coordinator) coordinated this event.
For more than a decade, across USA, TANA has been distributing backpacks to disadvantaged kids during the beginning of the school year. This has been a very popular and successful program helping to build the bridges with the local communities. As part of backpack donation program more than 200 backpacks were distributed to the needy kids in the Pennsylvania schools. TANA Backpack Program was able to provide backpacks stuffed with school supplies donated by Bell Info Solutions. The students and faculty at the Scott’s Elementary School appreciated TANA for this gesture of support and kindness which will provide the much needed initiative and good start for the needy families with children getting back to school.
TANA supporters & Community leaders attended the event are Nagaraju Nalajula, Samba Ancha, Ramesh Bathini, Sam Ellanki, Narendra Pamulapati, Venkat Singu etc.
TANA Mid-Atlantic team is looking forward to organize many more such charitable events in future and promise to assist all the Telugu speaking people and other Indians during emergency and needy times.
