Diwali – Musica Extravaganza – Grand Celebrations by TARA (Telugu Association of Reading & Around) – 16th November 2014.

November 16th 2014 will forever remain in the annals of history as one of the proudest & glorious moments for TARA (Telugu Association of Reading & Around), UK. Internationally renowned & professional artists in different fields of arts - Music, Dance & Songs performed in the event and their skills & expertise mesmerised the audience till the end of the show. Audience present had an opportunity to witness a perfect blend of all South Indian talents – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam, all in one place and in a way TARA has, on this day, pushed its own boundaries and hosted this spectacular arts event.

Decorations were done up to create a sober but elegant & friendly ambience to guests and the lightings were dimmed to make sure the focus is on the stage so that the audience enjoy the performances without distraction.

Mr.Venkat Para, TARA core committee member, has given warm welcome note to the audience and handed over the event proceedings & anchoring part to Ms.Deepa Shyam which she executed very well.

The evening started with devotional songs and the difficult keerthanas rendered by kids with ease appealed everyone. Aravindha Rajeev, Ananya Chatterjee and Sri Vidhya students have impressed with Prayer Songs, Carnatic Songs, Keerthanas. And Mahishasura Mardhini & Ashtalaxmi dances performed by Jyotsna Prakash students were fest to eyes where the kids depicted the episode of rise and fall of king, Mahishasura. The talent present was fabulous and the tutors and parents of those kids deserve a pat on their back in nurturing our next generations with our heritage & culture.

Following the kids performances, the event has brought onto stage talented and professional dance artists in Bharatanatyam & Mohiniattam. Every performance was equally mesmerising and audience were enthralled with the beauty of dance, the grace and the expressions. Among the dancers were Ms.Ananya Chatterjee (Bharatanatyam), Ms.Satya Vani Nuti & Kum.Santosh G Nair (Tarangam – Bharatanatyam), Ms.Ranjitha Chowalloor (Mohiniattam) and Ms.Shyama Sasidharan (Bharatanatyam).

Kum.Santosh G Nair, renowned Bharatanatyam artist, and national ‘Bala Shree’ awardee who have many more awards to her credit has welcomed Dr.Jyotsna Srikanth and briefed about Dr.Jyotsna’s journey from childhood to what she is today, a star in the Indian music field, who can blend our Indian carnatic music with western and present with elegance.

Soon after introduction, Dr.Jyotsna Srikanth & her team’s fusion musical performance brought the entire auditorium to its feet as pulsating beats rang from one after the other to the top-hit melodies of Indian films. Audience were on their feet clapping and swaying to the rhythm and beats from famous drummer, Mr.Manjunath Ns & Keyboard player Shadrach Solomon complimented meticulously played Violin by Dr.Jyotsna Srikanth. Each and every music bit played by Dr.Jyotsna & her team, be it Indian films medley or her own music compositions with Sprint, Italian folk – the hall was rebound with thundering applause and shrieks of joy while small groups were found to be dancing to the superb melodies. The ‘Wow’ factor was echoing at the beginning & and at the end of each music item played. Overall, it was a feast to ears and eyes and people were left spellbound with the way how fast Dr.Jyotsna was playing the Violin within blink of eyes. The sound system was top-class and was perfect for such an electrifying performance. Several Indian film songs were rendered by eminent singers, Ms. Sahithya Hari & Mr.Sri Krishnan, which added a soothing effect to the whole event.

All performing kids were appreciated with medals and certificates, and each adult performer was honoured with flower bouquet & ‘Thank You’ note by TARA President, Mrs.Lakshmi Maturu & TARA Secretary Mr.Ravikanth Vakada. Later, Mr.Ravikanth and TARA core member, Mr.Surya Prakash Bhallamudi expressed their happiness over the support the parents have given to the unique programme ‘Mana Maata’ aimed to teach Telugu language to kids of different age groups. Few students registered were on stage while some of the parents on stage explained how their kids improved during the last weeks of joining the course and expressed their gratitude to TARA for organising such a wonderful course. One of the feedbacks from a parent on stage was that every time their kids needed to talk to kids grandparents, they were required to translate from Telugu-English and vice-versa and there was a day recently where the kids spoke on Skype to grandparents in Telugu without having need for translation – and that’s a true success story for TARA’s ‘Mana Maata’ programme. Credit goes to the extensive hard work that Mr.Ravikanth & Mr.Surya Prakash are putting into this programme.

Vote of thanks was delivered by TARA Treasurer, Mr.Naveen Gurram thanking all those who supported the event – members, performers, sponsors and more importantly volunteers who have given unconditional support and spent many days in the background and on the day to make this event grand success.

యునైటెడ్ కింగ్డం (UK)లో ‘తారా’ వారి ఆధ్వర్యంలో ఘనంగా జరిగిన దీపావళి వేడుకలు!

నవంబర్ 16వ తేది 2014 ‘తారా’ (తెలుగు అసోసియేషన్ అఫ్ రీడింగ్ అండ్ అరౌండ్) వారి జాబితాల్లో ఒక అద్భుతమైన, గర్వకారణమైన మైలు రాయిలా నిలిచిపోతుంది. వివిధ కళల్లో ప్రపంచ ఖ్యాతి పొందిన సంగీత, నాట్య, గాన కళాకారులు ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొని కార్యక్రమం చివరి వరకు ప్రేక్షకులని మంత్ర ముగ్ధ్లుల్ని చేసారు. విచ్చేసిన పాత్రికేయులకి ఒకే వేదికపై దక్షిణ భారతంలో గల కన్నడ, మళయాళ, తమిళ, తెలుగు కు సంబంధించిన కళల ప్రదర్శనలు ఒక విన్నూత్నఆకర్షణగా నిలచింది. వేదికను ఎంతో శోభాయమానంగ దీపాలతో, పూలతో అలంకరించారు.

మొదట ‘తారా’ కమిటీ మెంబర్, వెంకట్ పారా గారు వచ్చిన వారందరిని సాదరంగా ఆహ్వానించారు. ఆపై దీపా ష్యామ్ గారు కార్యక్రమాలకి వ్యాఖ్యాతగా వ్యవహరిస్తూ మొదలుపెట్టారు.

పిల్లలు ఆలపించిన కీర్తనలు, భక్తి పాటలు, ప్రదర్శించిన అష్టలక్ష్మి, మహిషాసుర మర్దిని నృత్యాలు చూపరులని ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. మన సాంప్రదాయాల్ని, సంస్కృతిని రాబోయే తరాలకు నేర్పిస్తున్నందుకు అటు గురువులను, ప్రోత్సహిస్తున్న ఇటు తల్లితండ్రులను అందరూ కొనియాడారు. తమ ప్రతిభను ప్రదర్శించిన పిల్లలకు మెడల్స్, సర్టిఫికెట్స్ అందచేసారు.

జాతీయ ‘బాల శ్రీ’ అవార్డుతో పాటు, ‘బాల రత్న’, ‘నాట్య మయూరి’, ‘నృత్య శోభిత’ లాంటి  ఎన్నో అవార్డ్లను అందుకున్న, వివిధ దేశాల్లో 1200కి పైగా ప్రదర్శనలు ఇచ్చి , తన 16వ ఏటనే ‘ది ఫాసెట్ట్స్అఫ్ ఇండియన్ డాన్స్’ అనే పుస్తకాన్ని రచించిన కుమారి సంతోష్ జి నాయర్, మరియు భరతనాట్యంలో నిష్ణాతులైన సత్య వాణి నుతి, అనన్య చట్టర్జీ, శ్యామా శశిదరన్  ప్రేక్షకులని రంజింపజేయగా, రంజిత చోవల్లూర్ మొహినిఅట్టం నృత్యంతో ప్రేక్షకులని ఆకట్టుకుంది.

కుమారి.సంతోష్ జి నాయర్ గారు డా.జ్యోత్స్న శ్రీకాంత్ గారి గురించి, వారి వయోలిన్ విద్య నుంచి సంగీత ప్రపంచంలో తనకంటూ ఒక చోటును ఏర్పరుచుకున్న ఆవిడ సంగీత జీవిత ప్రయాణాన్ని  క్లుప్తంగా తెలియచేసారు. తరువాత ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్య ఘట్టం డా.జ్యోత్స్న శ్రీకాంత్ వయోలిన్, మంజునాథ్ డ్రమ్స్ మరియు సోలమన్ కీబోర్డ్ తో వేదికను హోరెత్తించారు. జ్యోత్స్నగారి వయోలిన్ వాయిద్యానికి ప్రేక్షకులు చప్పట్లతో, ఈలలు, డాన్సులు వేస్తూ ఆనందించారు. ఉషారైన పాటల్ని, పాత పాటల్ని, ఇటాలియన్ ఫోక్ పాటల్ని మరియు ఎన్నో సినిమా పాటల్ని ఆవిడ ఎంతో అలవోకగా వాయించి ప్రేక్షకులని మంత్ర ముగ్ధ్లుల్ని చేసారు. సంగీత సాగరంలో ప్రేక్షకులంతా మునిగి తేలారు, సంగీతంలో ఉన్న తీయదనాన్ని ఆస్వాదించారు. ‘హాట్స్-ఆఫ్’ అంటూ ఆవిడ్ని అందరూ అభినందించారు. తెలుగు, తమిళ, మలయాళ సినిమాల నుంచి మంచి పాటల్ని సాహిత్య హరి మరియు శ్రీ కృష్ణన్ ఆలపించారు.

తమ కళని, విలువైన సమయాన్ని ఈ కార్యక్రమానికోసం కేటాయించిన కళాకారులను ‘తారా’ తరఫున ప్రెసిడెంట్ లక్ష్మిమాటురు మరియు సెక్రటరీ రవికాంత్ వాకాడ పుష్పగుచ్చాలతో, ప్రశంసా పత్రాలతో గౌరవించారు. అలాగే, తమ విద్యార్ధులను తీర్చిదిద్దుతున్న సంగీత గురువులను (అరవిందా రాజీవ్, శ్రీ విద్య, అనన్య చట్టర్జీ మరియు జ్యోత్స్నా ప్రకాష్ గార్లకు) కూడా పుష్పగుచ్చాలతో, ప్రశంసా పత్రాలతో గౌరవించారు.

మన సంస్కృతిని, తెలుగు భాషను కాపాడుకునే విధంగా పిల్లలకు ‘మన మాట’ అనే కార్యక్రమాన్ని మొదలుపెట్టామని, దీని ద్వారా 20మంది చిన్నారులు తెలుగుని నేర్చుకుంటున్నారని, వారికి తెలుగు మీద ఆసక్తి పెరగడాన్ని చూసామని ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్నినిర్వహిస్తున్న సూర్య ప్రకాష్ భల్లముడి, రవికాంత్ వివరించారు. పిల్లల తల్లిదండ్రులు తమ సంతోషాన్ని అందరితో పంచుకున్నారు. ఇంతక ముందు మన దేశంలో వున్న అమ్మమ్మ, నానమ్మ, తాతలతో మాట్లాడాలంటే తాము పిల్లలకు మధ్యవర్తిగా వుంటూ తెలుగులో చెప్పినదాన్ని ఇంగ్లీష్ లో చెప్పాల్సి వచ్చేదని, ఇప్పుడు ఈ ‘మన మాట’ కోర్స్ పుణ్యమా అని తాము లేకుండానే చక్కగా ఇండియా వాళ్ళతో పిల్లలు మాట్లడగలుగుతున్నారని, ఈ కోర్సుని నిర్వహిస్తున్న ‘తారా’ కి ధన్యవాదాలు తెలిపారు - ‘ది బెస్ట్’ అని కితాబునిచ్చారు.

చివరగా ‘తారా’ ట్రెజరీ నవీన్ గుర్రం మాట్లాడుతూ ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి తోడ్పడిన వాలంటీర్స్ కి, సభ్యుల కి, ముఖ్యంగా స్పాన్సర్స్ కి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపుతూ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ముగించారు.
