Continues the hilarious dialogue written by Jandhyala in the movie
"Jayammu Nischayammura". Kota enacting the role of a
person from a remote Telangana village pours life into the role.
In this episode of 'Role and Actor - made for each other' let
us discuss the actors who gave life to the roles played by actors
who perfected in Telangana dialect.
It
was not until the late 80's that these kinds of roles were that
popular. Actors like Kota, Tanikella Bharani, Telangana Shakuntala
excelled in these roles. These roles initally started for comedy
purpose in the movies. We can see actors enacting these kind of
roles for comedy purposes in movies like "Namaste Anna",
"Jayammu nischayammura", "Money", "Moodu
mukkalata" etc. However controversy surrounded these roles
when the audience noted that only the villains were made to use
this accent. Actors like Bharani, Narsing being examples of this.
Rayalaseema
roles:
It all started with Venky's "Preminchukundam raa" in
the year 1997. Visualized by Deenraj, dialogues written by paruchuri
brothers, directed by Jayant this movie became a runaway hit and
the roles showing Rayalaseema mafia dons started holding the centre
stage in Telugu movies.
Clad in a cream-colored dhoti and lalchi, wearing a kanduwa on
the shoulder and with a 100-volt voice, Jayaprakash epitomizes
these roles. His mannerisms, rolling of the eyeballs and his near
perfect accent suits the role well. He portrayed this role in
movies like Preminchukundam raa, Samarasimha reddy, Narasimha
Naidu etc adding his own contribution to make those movies super
hits. Actors like Aahuthi prasad also have acted in these kinds
of roles in many movies.
Whatever may be the roles, either mythological, folklore or family
oriented dramas, Telugu movie field can boast of actors who have
given their life to those roles making them second to none in
their respective roles. Idlebrain.com salutes those roles and
the actors that portrayed those roles.
