Story

Krishna (Nani) is a coward and he loves Mahalaxmi (Mehreen) who belongs to a factionist family. Mahalakshmi too loves him back. Being a coward, he is unable to approach the family of Mahalakshmi to ask for her alliance. Meanwhile, a don (Murali Sharma) enters India on a mission in disguise. A rival factionist family tries to kill family of Mahalakshmi. Krishna is given an opportunity to fight for love. Rest of the story is all about how he redeems himself to become a brave lover.

Artists Performance

Actors: Nani exudes rustic charm in a coward character. Nani entertains with perfect comedy timing and improvisation. You can see some traces of his character in Bhale Bhale Magadivoy in body language and dialogue delivery. I liked the way he improvised the smoking disclaimer at the beginning of the film. Debutant actress Mehreen does a commendable job for a first timer. She resembles Kajal Agarwal a bit. Satyam Rajesh is fine as hero’s buddy. Murali Sharma does quirky role. Pruthvi’s role is entertaining. Brahmaji gets another entertaining role. Sampath Raj plays the role of a sincere cop. The kids are adorable, especially the younger one. All other actors are aptly cast.

Technical departments

Story - screenplay - direction: Hanu Raghavapudi is good with writing and he has taken elements that are vastly different from each other (factionism, love and crime). He has mixed the elements properly in first half to create interest. The second half becomes tedious where the director continued having these three elements run parallelly. He has succeeded in creating entertainment in Brahmajin and Pruthvi - Murali Sharma’s episodes. There are a couple of scenes (heroine’s brother assigning job to hero and kid giving gun to hero) that commercially create impact. However, the emotions and logics for pre-climax and climax episodes should have been taken care of.

Other departments: Most of the songs scored by Vishal Chandrasekhar go with the flow of the film. The background music is rich. Cinematography by Yuvaraj is thematic. Dialogues are written well. Fights are realistic. Editing is not seamless. Art direction is good. Production values by 14 Reels banner are excellent.

Analysis: First half of the film is engaging. Second half is tedious with too many elements though it provides pretty good entertainment with Pruthvi - Murali Sharma episodes. Plus points of the film are Nani and hatke-storyline. On the flipside, the orientation and logics should have been taken care of in the second half. On a whole, Krishnagaadi Veera Premagadha is a differently treated film with Nani dominating the show!
