Before the advent of Pizza huts, coffee houses and other swanky
joints, even temples formed an ideal place for young lovers
to meet in the city. And in the villages, the serene surroundings
of a temple provided an ideal location for the lovebirds.
The unit of Jalaja Art Productions found the village temple
in Lakshmapur, 60 kilometers from Hyderabad, the perfect venue
to picturise some pivotal scenes on the lead pair Rahul and
Lahari for their maiden venture, Vachinavadu Suryudu directed
by Mandava Gopala Krishna.
Ace
cinematographer MV Raghu is seen adjusting the camera angle
while the young pair settle on a branch of a temple tree as
per the instructions of the director. Rahul and Lahari belong
to the same village. And it is the habit with them to meet
at that place since childhood. The childhood liking develops
into love as they grow up. Rahul completes his medical course
in the city and returns to the village. Lahari, by then practices
homeopathy and serves the poor. Rahul's father is a rich landlord
along with the local MLA, constructs a super-specialty hospital
in the city for his son. In fact, Rahul meets his girl friend
to tell her about this and plan their future on sharing life
in the city, after marriage. But, Lahari has other ideas.
She tells him that the villagers need a doctor more than the
city folks. If he is not interested to serve his fellow villagers,
he can leave the place and go for greener pastures in the
city. But she will not accompany him.
The
film has its producer Lakshmana Swamy playing an important
role. He plays a military officer who has the interests of
the village in his heart and guided by Vijaya Chandar. Superstar
Krishna, who dons the chief minister's role to make a special
appearance in the climax. The entire film is shot in six villages
located in Medak district. It has all the commercial ingredients
like comedy (from Mallikharjuna Rao, MS Narayana, Velu, Babu
Mohan, Gundu Hanumantha Rao, AVS and others), music (Radha
Gopi) action and power packed dialogues (Sathavahana).
"The
idea is besides providing wholesome entertainment, to leave
a subtle message for the youth as the country's future lies
in their hands. We have completed the shooting part and we
are now in post-production stage. We choose August 9 as the
release date to coincide with the anniversary of the Quit
India movement. Even if an iota of change occurs after the
release of our film in ushering in new era, our mission is
fulfilled," says Gopalakrishna.
