Audio of Suman’s latest devotional film ‘Sri Satyanarayana Swamy’ was launched by K Raghavendra Rao at a function arranged in Prasad Labs on the night of 4th October. This function was also graced by D Rama Naidu, JK Bharavi & Tammareddy Bharadwaja.
Speaking on the occasion D Rama Naidu said, “Mythological films are back. K Raghavendra Rao created this trend by directing Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu. I also produced a mythological film in late 60s.”
JK Bharavi said that there are 12 good songs in this album. This film explains the importance of Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Vratam.
Tammareddy Bharadwaja said, “I am basically an atheist. I used to watch a lot of devotional films because of NTR. I used to regard NTR as God because he was doing devotional roles. K Raghavendra Rao did Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu by giving vital roles to Suman. Suman has become a good replacement to the devotional roles slot left vacant by NTR.”
Actor Suman said, “A friend of mine called me up from Dubai and introduced me to Rao over phone. Rao expressed his wish to make a devotional film with me. I did not realize that he was serious as he approached me over the phone. After a few days, he sent me the director Nagesh and narrated the story. He considered me to do the lead role because of my work in Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu and Maa Balaji. This film also preaches how to do Satyanarayana Vratam in a systematic way. I donned nine getups in the film. A few scenes in this film are so emotional that I got tears without using glycerin. Producer came to India after we completed the shoot. Rao is producing this film with noble intentions of spreading devotion.”
Director Nagesh said that he directed TV serials in the past and he always wanted to direct devotional epics like Annamayya. He also mixed entertainment into the film.
Music director Vandemataram said that this is his second devotional film after Devullu. He thanked Burra Subramanya Sastry for giving good lyrics.
