Indian Film Industry (c/o D Rama Naidu Studios. Hyderabad) felicitated T Subbirami Reddy on the eve of him getting a berth in central cabinet in a grand style on the night of 26 June at Shilpa Kala Vedika. This function was jointly organized by Andhra Pradesh Kala Vedika, Rasamayi, Vamsee, Kinnera and Yuva Kala Vahini cultural outfits.
Six Padma Bhushans who graced this function includes Devanand, ANR, C Narayana Reddy, Yash Chopra, Shyam Benegal and Chiranjeevi. Prominent Telugu film heroes Krishna, Bala Krishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Mohan Babu attended this function as guests of honor.
Yesteryear heroines Jamuna, Vijaya Nirmala and Vijaya Santhi were also present. The other film celebrities who attended this function include D Rama Naidu, K Viswanath, TL Kantha Rao, Gummadi, MS Reddy, Murali Mohan, K Raghavendra Rao, Aswini Dutt, D Suresh Babu, KL Narayana, MS Raju, Paruchuri brothers, B Gopal, Brahmanandam and SV Krishna Reddy.
K Rosaiah presided over the function. Vijaya Shanti lighted the candle. M Mohan Babu presented the citation and Superstar Krishna presented the memento.
TSR music awards were given to Kumar Sanu, Chitra and KM Radha Krishnan. Kumar Sanu and Chitra rendered their voice to two songs each on this occasion.
TL Kantha Rao said that T Subbirami Reddy personally helped him a lot. MS Reddy read out a poem written on TSR. K Viswanath described that TSR has mental personality of lord Shiva and physical personality of Lord Vishnu. Murali Mohan said that TSR would love even his haters. C Narayana Reddy said that he observed TSR as a student at Nizam College and praised him as a great donor.
Vijaya Shanti gave a political color to her speech by ending it with ‘Jai Telangana’.
K Rosaiah said, “T Subbirami Reddy is a multifaceted personality. He came to this stage with hard work and dedication. He is now ‘minister for state’. I am sure that he would become union minister one day.”
Thespian Devanand said, “T Subbirami Reddy is a man of many parts. He is utterly humane with a warm heart. He initiated me to Tirupati temple and has a philanthropic bent of mind. He is cutout for better things in future.”
T Subbirami Reddy thanked every guest of the function and said, “I always love arts and artists. I have chosen a district and served the people for the past 25 years. We have reserves of rich mines spread over 18 lacs of square kilometers. And we use 75 thousand now. My aim is to make the use of at least 9 lacs square kilometers of mines in the near future. It is recently discovered that Ananthapur has gold mines.”
Mohan Babu said, “T Subbirami Reddy is a nice human being and helps everybody around him. He helped me by arranging bank personals to issue a loan of 1 crore to my educational institute. Now, my institute has capacity to accommodate 6000 students and we sponsor 25% of the students by providing free education.”
Jamuna said, “I am indebted to T Subbirami Reddy because he arranged a huge felicitation for me in Nizam grounds in 1978 when I completed 25 years as an actress. NTR, Hema Malini, Chenna Reddy and LK Advani came to that function.”
D Rama Naidu said, “I am associated with T Subbirami Reddy for the past 35 years. I am proud that I introduced as an actor in my films. He did guest roles as collector and SP in Soggadu and Poola Rangadu films respectively.”
Bala Krishna said that T Subbirami Reddy balances his acts with right spirituality and shrewd business acumen.
Chiranjeevi said, “T Subbirami Reddy is an inspiring person. Whenever I am stressed out due to working overtime, I recollect inspiration given by T Subbirami Reddy. He is ever smiling and at peace all the time. He possesses special qualities which are pretty unique. He also believes in spreading love principle. If we spread love, it comes back to us. It is so inspiring to see T Subbirami Reddy who started his career with cycle in Nellore becoming the central minister now.”
Suma anchored the event. Gangadhar, Chalapati Raju, Vijaya Lakshmi and Surekha Murthy also performed a few songs.
