meet of Sekhar Kammula’s latest film Godavari
was held at FNCC in the afternoon of 28th December
2005. This meet was attended by Sekhar Kammula, GVG
Raju, Sumanth and Kamalinee Mukherjee.
This
film is about heroes among us - Sekhar Kammula
Director Sekhar Kammula said, “Anand film brought
us both rewards and awards. Anand film was liked my
middle and upper middle class people a lot. The progressive
attitude of heroine’s character was appreciated
by ladies very much. The movie lovers would certainly
have expectations on the next film by the team of
Anand. Godavari film is a modern romantic comedy set
against the backdrop of Godavari. Sumanth okayed the
film after reading the bound script. Kamalinee Mukherjee
shown in an angle that went unexposed in Anand film.
Sumanth is playing the role of a simple man serving
the society without any motives behind it. This film
is about the heroes among us.”
I
am very fortunate to get this film - Sumanth
Hero Sumanth said, “I am very fortunate be cast
in this film as hero. Not many actors get this kind
of film these days. All the characters I played so
far are very cinematic. For the first time I am doing
a very realistic and idealistic character. Godavari
script is perfect and you would see a new Sumanth
in this film. Godavari film is going to be a wonderful
one.”
Our
characters have parallels to Ram and Seeta - Kamalinee
Mukherjee
Heroine Kamalinee Mukherjee said, “I am feeling
really happy to work with the team of Anand again.
The character played by Sumanth and me have parallels
to that of Ram and Seeta respectively. Seeta is known
for honesty, goodness and integrity. That is what
my character in this film has. KM Radhakrishnam gave
rocking music for Godavari. There is happy feel and
freshness in this film just like Anand. The additional
ingredient is this film is going to be romance.”
Aiming
for Feb 2006 release - GVG Raju
Producer GVG Raju said, “I fell in love with
the idea when Sekhar Kammula narrated it an year back.
The bound script was ready by April. Godavari film
has contemporary story and shows how leadership quality
comes out of a person as per the situation. When we
shot Godavari, there were very high water levels.
Godavari is going to be a very big film after the
release. We are aiming for February 2006 release.”
