“Run for Girl Child” to be held on 22nd
10K/5K Run starts from Gachibowli Stadium
To promote awareness “Kishori Vikas” – Empowerment of Girl Child



Seva Bharathi -Telangana for the first time is organizing a “Run for Girl Child” On 22nd January at Gachibowli Stadium. To promote awareness about the program “Kishori Vikas” – Empowerment of Girl Child.Raghunath Veerabelly, General Secretary, Seva Bharathi, Ramamurthy Prabhala, President, Seva Bharathi Cyberabad, Dr. Jayashri, Coordinator, Kishori Vikas Girl Empowerment program, Unvelid the RUN FOE GIRL CHILD poster, at Press Conference held at Hotel Aditya, Ameerpet.

“This run is aimed at adding 400 Kishori Vikas Centers to the existing 100 centers run in various parts of Hyderabad. These centers empower Girl Children residing in Slums and Low Income areas by helping them in their Education, Health and Skill Development” Mr Raghunath,said.

Run will start at 7am from Gachibowli Stadium. 5K route is from Gachibowli stadium to Microsoft gate and back to Gachibowli stadium. 10K route is from Gachibowli stadium to T-Grill (Financial District) and back to Gachibowli stadium, he added.

Ramamurthy Prabhala, President, Seva Bharathi Cyberabad, Dr. Jayashri, Coordinator, Kishori Vikas Girl Empowerment program, says that “Diginitaries including Honourable Telangana Assembly Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, CII Chairman Vanitha Datla, Comissioner of Health & Family Welfare Smt. Karuna Wakati and Vasudha Foundation Chairman M V Rama Raju, Venkateshwara Group of Colleges Chairman Smt. Surabhi Vani have agreed to be part of this Run.

Corporates like Capgemini, Genpact, GGK Technologies, Care Hospitals, Magma Finance, Value Momentum and many IT companies are participating. In addition many families from Gated Communities are also supporting the event. More than 400 beneficiaries of Kishori Vikas Program from Slums and low income areas of Greater Hyderabad will join the event. More than 5000 participants will support 'Run for Girl Child' campaign.
