Reminded
too much of that dreadful day "September 11" conveniently
quoted as "9/11"!!! Yeah
I guess so because the
first anniversary is on the cards!!! I, myself think it's tough
to face or hear something unfortunate on that day and I am more
alarmed than that "Y2K" fear on the turn of the midnight
of the year 2000 as being in North America means power disasters
would create a literal "havoc"!!! I still laugh at what
has happened on that night
We were partying and we told kids
that there might be a power failure
and it did not happen
so what the kids did??? They themselves turned off the lights
at 12 midnight in order to have candle-light-dinner and everybody
including kids burst out into laughter
Why a non-filmi discussion
on Idlebrain??? because I want to give a lighter tone to what
I wrote on "pirated-cute-stuff" because folks in North
America thought I brought "Sep11" into focus when I
mentioned "911" which I meant otherwise!!! No, there
is no conspiracy like 9/11 when I am talking about pirated-cute-stuff
The
analysis on how "pirated-cute-stuff" does damage
in the overseas market, everybody knew
but they feel it
is the responsibility of the producers to clean the system in
India itself before doing something "solid" here as
the law here is very stringent and those who tamper with the law
could result in "heavy fines" and "deportation"
also!!! The legal proceedings here are expensive and as "time"
is equated with "money" nobody wants to take-the-risk
of loosing it. Well, it takes time to clean the system and I think
some of the Indian producers have started moving in that direction.
A good sign Indeed!!!
Are
the movies sold for exorbitant rates in the overseas??? The pricing
seems to be the factor for some as they say that because there
is exorbitant pricing for the overseas, the producer is loosing
sympathy and there is a conducive atmosphere created for pirated
stuff. I never thought of that aspect before but when I look into
it, as some pointed out, probably time has come to sit and have
a chat between overseas distributors and Indian producers and
let them chalk out a uniform pricing pattern. Most importantly,
it is better to announce "the date of DVD or VHS release"
on popular web portals so that our folks know which is a pirated
one and which is a original one before getting stumped by the
rental fellow
so the Indian producer has to do lot-of-homework
I guess
Get yourself organized in the home-front-first!!!
It's
finger-pointing-strategy when it comes to viewing pirated stuff
is concerned. Though it's an offense to watch a pirated one, viewers
say that they do not care as it is available quick and cheap and
moreover, time is valuable for them. When it comes to the rental
fellow, he says he is doing a lot of service to Indian community
by giving a chance to watch and enjoy movies
They have come
to do business and they thrive only with the support of the community.
Yes
the
locals are cost conscious too
lot of fliers are available
to inform what deals are going on and they cut the coupons carefully,
store them till the week end to do their shopping. They do not
throw away money like "peanuts" but I like the concept
of "spending is fun too"!!! If one gets the value-for-their-money,
the satisfaction is immense!!! Be it anywhere!!! So how about
spending a B-U-C-K on a see-saw movie and still loose a B-U-C-K!!!
At some point of time, you gonna tell others-hey, guys, listen!!!
Spending is fun too!!! Here, in summer, the locals put garage
sale for FUN on their backyard and the item has a C-O-O-L price
tag but what they enjoy most is-the fantasy of wearing shorts
with cooling glasses enjoying the sun burn with lot of sun screen
lotion on
so, Selling is fun too!!!
So
how are you preparing yourself to mark the "9/11" anniversary???
Stressed out to think about it??? Lot of airlines are offering
discounted as well as free flights on that day. Do you want to
take one of those flights??? Be careful buddy
If you are
a kind of person who enjoys life taking risks, go ahead but take
a big-time-life-insurance-package to protect your family, not
to be misunderstood unlike "911" with "9/11"
this time
Have a safe flight!!!
