Gowtam (Nani) falls in love with Catherine (Nivedha Thomas). Jay (Nani) is a successful entrepreneur whose marriage is settled with Aishwarya (Surabhi) who is the heir of a successful business group. Catherine and Aishwarya meet on an international flight and start telling their love stories to each other. Rest of the story is about what happens when Catherine realises that Aishwarya’s fiancee looks just like Jay.
Actors: Nani gives yet another riveting performance in this movie. His emotions are top-notch in a couple of scenes towards climax. It’s a brave decision for him to accept a film of thriller genre. Surabhi is alright. Nivetha Thomas is striking with acting as well as looks. It’s a pretty good debut in Telugu for her. Srinivas Avasarala plays a key role in a classic style. Vennela Kishore provides excellent relief in a serious second half with his portrayal as a suspicious boss. Sree Mukhi is good as an investigative journalist. Vinay Varma plays a baddie role. 
Story - screenplay - direction: The story provided by R David Nathan is very good. The interval points makes us to curiously look forward towards the second half. Director Mohan Krishna Indraganti has succeeded in maintaining the suspense in the second half. Most of the first half is filled with a couple of love stories. Both these love stories should have been handled better. The screenplay in second half is interesting. This movie is a suspense thriller at the core with a cinematic climax point. 
Other departments: Chaligaali Choodu song is very good when you listen to the audio. Mani Sharma has given excellent background music for the scenes which raise suspicion on hero character in second half. Cinematography by PG Vinda is alright. But a thriller with a couple of love stories needs slick and vibrant visuals (may be it has to do with production values). Dialogues written by Mohana Krishna Indraganti are good. Editing by Marthand Venkatesh is alright. 
Analysis: Gentleman has a good plot point and a suspense factor. First half is filled with a couple of love stories which should have been more engaging. Second half goes into a serious mode of unveiling the mystery. Vennela Kishore’s comedy in second half provides entertainment. Plus points are plot point, Nani and suspense in second half. On the flip side, unengaging first half and slow-paced narration might dampen the experience. On a whole, Gentleman is a suspense thriller and offers something different for regular movie goers.
