  Stalin

It is actually very difficult for somebody to combine some humanitarian and thought provoking message subject with our traditionally, so called 'mass' elements that the regular movie goers look for. In STALIN, that is what Murugadasan, Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu tried to do. I shall say they succeeded in doing so. STALIN is definitely a worth and must watch movie. As a hard core and yet a critical fan of Chiru, I liked the movie well. I should not exaggerate any more than that. The story of the movie is director's attempt to combine two things:
                    1. Hero's idea to inject more social responsibility into the society 2. A small quarrel with some 'nobody' turning into a big fight with some of the top politicians in the state
Murugadoss did this extremely well. In the first half, there is not much of action or for that matter even good comedy or drama. The drama/action picks up just a few minutes before the interval and by the climax, Murugadasan brought the totally two different objectives together convincingly and made a nice climax. I am so glad that the climax didn't have to end with a fight scene! Songs picturisation is good, Chiranjeevi does look quite fresh, better than in his last two movies. But except for one or two, none of the dance movements are really touching (you know what I mean by 'touching' right ?). Those were the days when we danced for the entire songs standing on the seats; one of my friends actually crying for Hitler Abibbee song and shouting 'who else other than Chiru'. I hope those moments are not going to be just some history. Songs Music is good and just meets our expectations from Mani Sharma for a Chiru's movie. But it is been a while we saw some really outstanding songs music from this combination. Background music as usual is very solid and Mani Sharma proves his outstanding abilities one more time in that department. Dialogues by Parchuri are very good. I would have liked them better if they didn't announce the two main punch dialogues during the audio release function. Chota Naidu's photography is also remarkable. Trisha is very pretty, but limited to songs and some funny romantic scenes. Sarada and Kushboo after a long time on Telugu screen, made complete justice to their roles. Their presence actually helped the movie in feeling some different people/personalities than the usual mothers and sisters we always see in Telugu movies. Prakash Raj did do well and reminded me of Raghuvaran in Oke Okkadu (make up wise). Chiranjeevi as usual is excellent in acting and fight sequences. His funny romantic scenes with Trisha are really entertaining / pleasure to watch, but the problem is there are a very few of such scenes. His dance as usual was superb and looked very natural. However, more comedy and better dance sequences would have definitely helped the movie in a long run. This is a different type of movie in the sense that the producer , director and the mainly the main hero are so eager to pass a message to the public. The solution they came up with as a remedy to many problems in the society is very simple and can be easily implemented . The idea is powerful and somebody actually building a story around that should be very much appreciated. They definitely have guts to fill around 15% of the movie scenes that are based on humanitarian and social cause aspects. That way I never heard of movies like this before and obviously feel proud to be a sincere and forever fan of Megastar. Bala Tirumalasetty[email protected]
