In 1970, a 9-year-old boy saw himself in child actor Master Prabhakar from Bapu’s film Balaraju Katha. He dreamed of earning a name like that and bringing joy to his parents. As he grew up, he began acting in school plays and aspired to become a character actor like Kaikala Satyanarayana. In college, along with drama, he also won awards in Kuchipudi dance and eventually declared at home that he wanted to enter films.
Despite having four children and having lost 80% function in one leg, his father—who ran a small business—didn't deny his 20-year-old son’s wish and sent him to Madras. Two years passed just trying to get by. Without a godfather in the industry, he believed his father was his God—but dreams turned to disappointment, and he returned home.
At 22, he was married off and made a householder (as per the classic Shivareddy dialogue) and was told: "ఈ ఇంట్లో అన్నిటికీ నువ్వే పెద్దవై పోయావ్. కుటుంబం ఎలా నడపాలో నువ్వే చెప్పు" (You’re the eldest in the house. Take charge and show us how to run the family)
After fulfilling his responsibilities and repaying his parents’ debt, he moved to Hyderabad at the age of 49. Welcomed by the mother goddess of cinema, he began his film journey at 40 with Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu and continued it for 10 years. At 59, he played roles in films like Narappa, Acharya, Gaami, and Dasara. And now, at 64, he has arrived as “Bombula Shivareddy” in Mayasabha.
55 years of cinematic illusion.
The dream of a 9-year-old boy—who lived and breathed cinema—finally came true with Mayasabha.

1. Episode 3, after the bomb blast:
Before setting off with armed men to destroy even the last insect in his rival’s house, he faces criticism from his son MSR. Just before getting into the jeep, the way he lifts his hand and says “Chee!” (an expression of disgust) — that hand gesture was a powerful, authentic moment.
2. Episode 3, Sare scene:
The way he delivered the line “Tirapatendira! Shock meeda shock icchandavoo!” (Translation: “What a twist! You gave me a shock on top of a shock!”) always draws laughter.
Mahanti garu’s heartfelt thanks from his ashram to the Mayasabha team and audience:

This dream was born in the pure-hearted Deva’s mind, brought to life as Shivareddy, named by Vijay garu, given words by Kiran garu, played with fellow actors, aired by Sony Liv, and now receiving audience love and praise. Having spent decades chasing the right opportunity to express his talent, Mahanti garu decided that Mayasabha would be his final attempt. After the shoot wrapped, he returned to his ashram with his wife.
But now… opportunities are chasing him!
The film world is calling him back!

1970 లో బాపు గారి "బాలరాజు కథ" సినిమాలో బాల నటుడు మాస్టర్ ప్రభాకర్ లో తనను చూసుకున్న 9 సం.ల పిల్లాడు, తను కూడా అలా పేరు తెచ్చుకుని అమ్మానాన్నలకు ఆనందం పంచాలని సంకల్పించుకున్నాడు. కుర్రాడయ్యాక స్కూలులో నాటికలు వేస్తూ, కైకాల సత్యనారాయణ గారిలా కేరక్టర్ యాక్టర్ కావాలని కోరుకున్నాడు. కాలేజీలో చేరి నాటికలతో పాటు, కూచిపూడి నృత్యంలో కూడా బహుమతులు పొంది, సినిమాల్లోకి వెళతానని ఇంట్లో డిక్లేర్ చేశాడు. 4 గురు పిల్లలతో, కుడికాలు 80% కోల్పోయిన తండ్రి చిన్న వ్యాపారం చేసుకుంటూ, 20 సం.ల కొడుకు మాట కాదనక మద్రాసు పంపారు. రాకపోకలతోనే రెండు సంవత్సరాలు గడిచాయి. గాడ్ ఫాదర్ లేని వారికి గాడ్డే ఫాదర్ అని, ఫాదర్ నే గాడ్ గా భావించి, నేర వేరని ఆశతో నిరాశగా తండ్రి వద్దకు వచ్చేశాడు. 22 ఏళ్లకే పెళ్ళి కొడుకుని చేసి, మేనకోడలికిచ్చి ఇంటివాడిని చేసి (మన శివారెడ్డి డైలాగ్) "ఈ ఇంట్లో అన్నిటికీ నువ్వే పెద్దవై పోయావ్. కుటుంబం ఎలా నడపాలో నువ్వే చెప్పు" అంటూ బాధ్యతలు అప్పజెప్పేశారు.
తన తల్లిదండ్రుల ఋణం తీరాక, 49 సం.ల మధ్యవయసులో హైదరాబాద్ చేరారు. సినిమా కళామతల్లి ఒడిలోకి తీసుకుని, 40 ఏళ్ళకి చేరావా అంటూ "భీమిలీ కబడ్డీ జట్టు" తో తన ప్రయాణాన్ని 10 ఏళ్లపాటు కొనసాగించి, 59 సంవత్సరాలకు "నారప్ప", "ఆచార్య" "గామి", "దసరా" వంటి చిత్రాల్లో దొరికిన పాత్రలు చేసుకుంటూ 64 సంవత్సరాలకు “బాంబుల శివారెడ్డి”గా "మయసభ" లో తేలారు. 55 ఏళ్ల పాటు సినీ-మాయే. ఆశ, శ్వాస, ధ్యాసగా జీవిస్తున్న 9 సంవత్సరాల పిల్లవాడి కల మయసభతో నెరవేరింది.
మయసభలో మహంతి గారు చేసిన కొన్ని అద్భుతమైన ఇంప్రూవ్స్:
1. మూడో ఎపిసోడ్ లో బాంబ్ బ్లాస్ట్ తరువాత..తన ప్రత్యర్థి ఇంట్లో పురుగు కూడా మిగలకుండా చేస్తానని మంది మార్బలంతో బయల్దేరేముందు, తన కొడుకు MSR నుంచి విమర్శనెదుర్కున్నప్పుడు, జీప్ ఎక్కే ముందు తాను చేయి లేపి “ఛీ” అంటూ చేసిన ఒక హ్యాండ్ జెస్చర్ ఒక అద్భుతమైన ఆథెంటిక్ మొమెంట్.
2. మూడో ఎపిసోడ్ సారె సీన్: “తిరపతెందిరా షాక్ మీద షాకిచ్చాండావో” అనే డైలాగ్ తాను చెప్పిన విధానం చూసిన ప్రతిసారీ నవ్వులు కురిపిస్తుంది.

దశాబ్దాలుగా తన టాలెంట్ ని ఆవిష్కరించే సరైన అవకాశాల కోసం వెతుకుతూ అలిసి పోయిన మహంతి గారు, #మయసభ తన చివరి ప్రయత్నమని నిర్ణయించుకుని, షూటింగ్ అవగానే సతీ సమేతంగా ఆశ్రమానికి వెళ్లి పోయారు! ఇప్పుడు అవకాశాలే ఆయన కోసం వెతుకుతున్నాయి! సినీ ప్రపంచం రమ్మని పిలుస్తోంది! ఆశ్రమానికి వచ్చిన వారు కూడా తనతో మయసభ చర్చలే జరుపుతున్నారు. సెల్ఫీలడుగుతున్నారు. మహంతి గారు తిరిగి వస్తారు. మరెన్నో అద్భుతమైన పాత్రల్లో మనల్ని అలరిస్తారు!
