Open Letter to Krishna Vamsi

Dear Krishna Vamsi Sir,

I have been a fan of yours since Gulabi and I wont hesitate a bit in accepting that you are best director in the current Telugu film industry. Being in a remote place in USA I usually don't get a chance to watch that many Telugu movies and so once in a while I watch them on DVD's. Actually yesterday I bought the DVD of Sirivennala Seetaramasastry gaari songs and re-watching your song in Muraari made my day. However, just now I happened to watch a video on some website depicting you dishing out on Jeevi, the creator of idlebrain.com. I felt deeply hurt watching my favorite director and favorite person behaving in such a narrow minded way. You questioned the qualification of Jeevi in dissecting a movie, but please think back about yourself and also about great directors like Maniratnam and Ram Gopal Varma, what qualifications they had? You need not pay any attention and take out on grudge on him, if you feel that his comments will not affect your movie.

I hate to say this but I feel you are worried as his review would affect the movie business. See a Jeevi review is able to affect the film business, what does it say? Isn't it clear that people abroad depend on Jeevi review before making a decision to watch a movie. What more qualification does one need to be a critic? Every person has a right to express his/her opinion and if his or her opinions are insane and stupid as you suggested Jeevi's reviews were, then people will ignore him. But Idlebrain has been the most successful Telugu website and still is.

I as a one in normal audience hated some of Jeevi's reviews. But that doesn't mean that I can ask him to stop writing his reviews. And finally from your speech what you are finally implying is that no body should criticize or review a movie. Please think once, is that fair??
