Poem
on Deepavali by Srinivas Kanchibhotla
The magic of sound and light reflects in the ethos of this festival. On the darkest date of the month, right at the silent hour in the night, deepvaaLi announces its spectacle in bright lights and loud sounds - either to drive away the darkness and eerie silences of despair and the gloom, or to extend an open invitation to the start of another bright cycle (Sukla paksham - full moon cycle) of color and light. With deepvaaLi, concludes the festival season, and what a fitting way to bid adieu to the biding year!
