Guru

In my opinion Mani‘Ratna’m surpassed the standards he created in Nayakan with his ‘GURU’. It is clearly a Classic, without violence Mani still managed to raise the bench mark one more step from his landmark movie Nayakan.

GURU subject is not just about a legendary BUSINESS MAN. It touches many aspects of the LIFE and SPIRIT. Everyone of us DREAM … but only few people ACHIEVE their DREAMS … only few are always INSPIRED … why … you better watch GURU and get some inspiration.

Think about change in ‘Quality of life’ we are seeing today. One of the reason, the globalization of the business. People may think it is close to DHEERUBHAI AMBANI’s life, but GURU is the subject which can relate to Narayana Murthy of INFOSYS, Ajim Premji of WIPRO, TATA … the list go on. Remember every person who works for them and who bought their shares must realize the spirit behind these business people.

The scene where Madhavan proposes to handicap girl who is going to die soon and a kiss to make her life beautiful shows the depth of the director’s ability, the dialogues by Vijaya Krishna excellent, Abhishek and Aishwarya given life to characters and great effort from Maniratnam to make characters visible on the screen instead of the STARDOM.

Indian economy racing with new highs on BSE and NSE … most of the middle class men and women (including house wives) doing online trading … car becoming necessity instead of luxury … all this is because of the ‘BUSINESS’ and economy. If average moviegoer still thinks that ‘GURU’ is not a movie for me … then it is very unfortunate situation for great movie makers.

If an average moviegoer is only interested on CHEMISTRY between ABHISHEK and AISHWARYA … MALLIKA SHERAWAT curves … 5 songs … few fights … it is shame. How many decades we have to follow the same old formula? May be this is the time to think different!
