Open Letter to Pawan Kalyan

Dear Pawan Kalyan,

First of all congrats for the unanimous positive talk that annavaram is generating everywhere.

I have recently come to watch the movie and would like to share my feelings about the movie and provide some useful feedback from the view point of a neutral observer. The MAIN point I want to highlight in this movie is your acting style in the movie. Please keep up the same action, same underplay in rest of your movies too. Your acting is simply awesome.

As any casual observer can find it out, your acting ways changed a bit from Badri on wards. It is like two different Pawans we saw over the time; one during pre-badri days and one in badri & post-badri days. The pre-badri pawan acts in a subtle way, shy, underplays his roles, looks down to earth etc... The second pawan that we saw in badri and later movies is more jovial, aggressive, dramatic, overplays the character etc... Though I like both acting styles, personally I prefer the underplay kind. Ofcourse the overplay one is good in its own style and when it clicks it is simply the best, example kushi. But I personally feel most people like you in the underplayed roles.

Coming to the movie, here are things that I liked...

- The golconda scene, very touching
- Jahangir role and your hyderabadi accent.
- The entire mehbooba song
- The scene with sunil and your fluent replies. just too good.
- nagababus one-liners, tanikella bharanis comedy, raghubabus dialogues etc...
- The intelligent action sequences & mind games in second half are simply MIND BLOWING
- The way you come and read the warning letter before the main villan
- The entire scene with tapas balu and the great change in expression while saying "anni adigav kani vadi debba ela untado adagaledu"
- The way stones are shown to be crushed under shoes, iron rod bending when you are taken to tapas balu
- very elevating. i doubt even if a great mass director like vinayak would be able to conceive such a sequence.

Your acting is a revelation in this movie. Very subtle and gentle expressions, clean comedy, great dialogue delivery in powerful scenes (which ofcourse is your strength). Let me also mention that you looked very handsome in the movie, especially in the mehbooba song.

The flip side is the first half which kind of goes on a comparatively slow pace and the village background looks kind of old. A little bit more entertainment would have been better but that would dilute the too-good second half.

Also I would like to suggest you to do movies with in-form directors like vinayak, puri jagan, sukumar etc.. than with outdated and old directors. I agree that story is more important but as a director becomes older, his narrating style becomes too routine and boring and wouldnt suit the newer generation audience.

On the whole I feel you are back with a bang with annavaram. I wish you keep selecting good movies like this and continue to entertain the audience.
