Mr. Vijaya Bhaskar, an ardent fan of Telugu movies, provides the content in these articles. We have chosen this time period, as we believe this is a highly significant period in the history of Telugu cinema. It was the period that saw the rising of the first generation stars like NTR, ANR etc. Each article will cover a theatre and the successful movies run information and box office fate at those theatres.

Reminiscence of Sri Lakshmi Theater @ Vijayawada

One of the oldest theatres of Vijayawada and was built in early 40’s, many films released through many distributions, mainly small distribution offices, and even major distribution companies like Purna, Sri films, Navayuga, etc. were released in this theater. During 1990’s, this theatre was demolished and Swarna theatre complex was built in this area.

All heroes movies used to have a good screening at this theatre and Legendary actors NT Ramarao and A Nageswara Rao had 10 and 7 hundred days films at this prestigious theatre.
