A brief conversation with one of the rising stars Jr. S.V.Ranga Rao about his journey through the film industry being the grandson of a great telugu actor Late Mr.S.V.Ranga Rao. He also shares the details of his movie Mr.7 that’s about to release on the 3rd of August 2012. Following below is a few things that he had shared with us which also includes information about his personal life and his work formula .

How did you start your career in the film industry?

I basically belong to a film background where my grandpa was already a super popular hero in the telugu film industry . So I always wanted to be an actor . I started my career as a producer and also acted in a movie for a negative role but unfortunately that did not release due to some problems . So now I m launching my own movie Mr.7 where I’m doing the lead role.

What is your educational qualification?
I was an outstanding student (always outside the classroom) . I was never interested in studies. I completed my schooling in Chennai and pursued my graduation (BA English Literature) through correspondence. I was pretty much keen about acting . So I professionally learnt dancing , fighting and the rest of it came from my blood .

What kind of a role are you playing in Mr.7?
I am doing the lead role in the movie and I play the role of a car thief who does anything in his life only if it connects to the number 7. So my role includes a lot of fight scenes which is done on a real basis where I personally did 90% of the fight sequences on my own and infact met with an accident due to that too. I’ve also justified the love part in the movie where I fall in love with Neelam Upadhyay (Heroine)

What kind of a movie is Mr.7?
Mr.7 is a short and neat movie which includes love , action , thrill and comedy . The movie doesn’t revolve just around the hero . Importance is given to every individual actor in it . Infact I prefer calling myself a part of the movie rather than a hero. It is a complete entertainer and I feel that the audience will not have the scope of getting bored at any point .

Tell us about the cast and crew of the movie?
That is a vital thing I need to mention .The director of the movie is S.R.Charan Reddy and this is his first movie . Neelam Upadhyay has played the heroine role . Cinematography was taken care by Mr.Prabakar Reddy and the editor was Uddav . Sharan , Sathyadev and Srinivas Reddy had also acted in the movie . Instead of mentioning a single name , I would say that the entire crew had done a great job and had put in a lot of hard work .

So how do you feel about the release?
I am pretty nervous because it is a very big responsibility on me to hold up my grandpa’s reputation. I am being introduced as a hero for the first time and since it’s my own production I am even more tensed. Added to this the movie is releasing along with a couple of big movies like DCM and julai which is again making me keep my fingers crossed. Hoping for the best

Who is your role model?
Undoubtedly it is my grandfather.

Who is your best critic?
My sister is my first best critic and then comes every member in my family . They all play a major role in my career

Whom do you feel is my lucky charm?
My daughter Swasthika is my lucky charm . An astrologer happened to say that after my wedding is when I would start rising in my career . That actually turned out to be true. So even the banner of the movie says “ Baby Swasthika Presents…”

Who is your favourite actor?
I like a lot of actors for their own style . I like Kamal Hasan for his versatility and Rajini kanth sir for his simplicity . I like Mohanlal as well for his acting style .

Amongst all your grandfather’s movies , which one is your favourite?
I like all his movies and I’ve atleast watched each one of them for more than ten times. One movie that is close to my heart is “Pathala Bhairavi”.

What would have been your profession if you had not come into the film industry?
I would have become a sports person because I used to be a cricket player and I also played a lot of volleyball and table tennis .

How supportive is your family?
Initially they did not really encourage me in becoming an actor but right now the scene is totally different . They had left it on me to decide what I really want .

What kind of a person are you?
I am a fun loving and a hard working person . I have a couple of good friends whom I generally hang out with . I follow my heart and I also act according to my moods .

How long did you shoot for this movie?
We completed the movie in about 55 days .

What is the spicy news about this movie?
The item song is the best part , Rachna Mourya has done a fantastic job.

Finally, what would like to tell the audience about the movie in a single line?
It is a simple, crisp, neat and a perfect entertainer. I wish it turns out to be a trendsetter.
